He made a comment that Pearse wasn't a drop-out, unlike Harris.

I pointed out that both were drop-outs which means

    (1) He didn't make a valid comment.
    (2) I didn't ignore it, I corrected it.

So in relation to taking unqualified politicians advice over experts, the last I checked Mark Ward was not a qualified public health expert, so I assume you believe he is wrong to call for gyms to be kept open. Ditto Mary-Lou with her call for an extended mid-term break, and for pubs to be kept open?

    That is not true.

    RBB was the topic.
He said it was better than fawning over college dropouts such as Harris.
    You raised PD.
I asked was Harris not a college drop out, (because you raised PD)?

I think Gyms etc should be closed. I think pubs should be closed, all pubs, even ones with food. I think what MLMD said a number of weeks ago doesn't stand today. That said these closures should remain in place until the state and health affiliates get their act together. The fact that we are over several months in and FF/FG/Greens are still acting like it's the people on trolleys in corridors at Christmas, (weren't prepared/weren't expecting it ) is ****e order and should be pointed out.
Contact tracing failures are the most recent of a very long line of evidence that FF/FG are not fit to govern.

    Who is?
Simple answer with your party of choice!

Some of the most successful people I know never went to 3rd level at all
One dropped out of school at 14 (he's in his 80s now) and became a millionaire
    Acumen

Yes, I'd take myself, the SD's, SF etc. or a chance on some random folk waiting on the bus over and above these incompetents. If it's making a bad deal for the tax payer they know all the angles seemingly. Get them to govern and they are out of their depth.
You hiding behind other parties doesn't improve the record of FF/FG on tackling Covid now does it?
I gave my view. No need for me to check any party line before I give it either.

When it comes to public health, entrepreneurship or get up and go doesn't cut it. That said we shouldn't need a degree to know health specialists might know more about a viral pandemic than a couple of gaffe prone self centered PR brats.

    It's the usual spiel.
    Who am I hiding behind?
Nota will be in govt without either of FF/FG for quite a while, so unless they take their prejudices less seriously than you they're going to be just spieling like yourself for a long time.

Just on the etc. part who would you like to see make up the 38 seats required to form a government?

Martin didn't know of Barry Cowan's drink driving, didn't know about the FFG Golf pissup in lockdown and learned about the HSE tracing failure in news reports. What a joke. Those special advisors are giving the tax payer a serious return on investment.

Strike me down with a bolt of lightning but I 1000% agree

Whomever you believe I might be beholden to, 'party of choice'. The key difference here is I have my own opinions which I post on here. Who I vote for is based on who best suits them. So you don't make any sense past trying to hide behind other parties, ('party of choice') when you come out with such retorts, but it serves to skip the content right? Apart from you also sounding childish IMO.
Pointing out the inadequacies of our government is just that. If this upsets you for some reason defend them don't go diverting and hiding behind others or try dismiss genuine criticism. If you disagree, do so. Try it without changing the subject, that being FF/FG making a balls of tackling Covid.

The local Bingo regulars, Covid willing. Any adults. A random selection. I only ask they put the public first and take advice from professionals.

Josepha Madigan going through the 'we must learn from this and move on' spiel and taking a bit of a hammering on the actual employment figures on The Tonight Show. Nervous and underprepared and kicking to touch better than Rob Kearney.

I'm in agreement with you on their latest handling of it, but not for the reasons you think.
Level five for six weeks is ridiculous and people paraylysing.
The fines they are now bringing in should long since have been brought in and enforcement of restrictions at level 3.
But that aside and they aren't the dogs bolox of a govt, they'd still on their worst day be head and shoulders above a govt that would have SF as a major partner on their best day.

I've little interest in using SF to attack or defend the government.
I am rightly critical of their handling. How better or worse SF might have been doesn’t come into it. They made a balls of it and I'm point that out.

Sure SF are doing a stellar job up north:)

They would do better down here though don't worry!!

Great answer thanks for taking the time to reply.

I will sleep better tonight knowing SF will never have the numbers to form a government based on it.

Jaysus where did they dig Josepha out of? Is this payback for swing gate. I see none of the big hitters available tonight to defend the sh1tshow that the government and health service have made of things. Wonder when will Eoghan Murphy get rolled out?

    Or maybe Michelle O Neill.

Ah now, it's only a pandemic, it's not that bad yet. :)

Typical I'm alright Jack attitude from government supporters. Pity the victims of the mother and baby homes won't be sleeping tonight as ffg plan to seal the records for 30 years to cover up their culpability.

We definitely need to see the job the parties are doing up north and take lead.

What about your spin last week that Simon Harris and his offices need to be raided for crimes against the state like in France?

You deleted it 3 mins later

    Spin indeed Sir.

Has a single word in your post got anything to do with what we were discussing?

The poster said they would like to see a SD + SF government I asked who they would chose to make up the additional 38 seats required to form a government.

The answer I got back was "The local Bingo regulars, Covid willing. Any adults. A random selection."

Now you reply with more nonsense about me being a government supporter and a tragic situation that happened 30 years ago.

  • Registered Users Posts: 69,176 ✭✭✭✭FrancieBrady

We definitely need to see the job the parties are doing up north and take lead.

Why don't you give us your take on how the north is doing in the relevant thread?

I have this image of the FGers huddling around the telly and cheering when the macabre competition they have invented is going their way and more real people are dying or getting sick in the north than here.

Aye, this is where our opposition are in govt.

It is referencing just one other thing this government is trying to do, today, in the Dáil. Couldn't be anymore relevant to a 'government' thread.
