When the lockdown was lifted, people weren't free to travel anywhere on the island to do anything they wanted. The advice was still to avoid unnecessary travel.

There were still restrictions on gathering, breached in the case of the Storey political rally. You are getting more desperate in your defence.

Look at Sinn Fein, they didn't breach this technical point of one of the restrictions, so everything is fine, even though they breached hundreds of other ones.

Give up on this one, the funeral broke the regulations, the politicians attending should follow the example of Golfgate and resign.

    1. Travel anywhere in Ireland
One of the biggest changes will be the removal of all travel restrictions within Ireland, as the "stay local" advice has been discarded. This means you can visit anywhere in the country.

    Yes they could

Overall a good budget, I'd be, against the huge carbon tax increase, but knew the Greens were money grabbers.
But relatively happy with it in General.

Yeh it was a good budget in fairness to them, huge carbon increases were always coming with the Greens in charge.

Very dissapointed they never found a few quid to give to frontline workers but ya cant have it all.

NI is up in a heap now, out of control.

That’s what happens when a bunch of populists are given a bit of power.

No hard decisions, just promise nirvana to everyone.

No wonder they have no chance of forming a govt down South.

That'll be one of the key issues in a border poll Brendi. You'll have a chance to secure the islands health in cases like this.

The north is a failed state, I and others have been telling you this for years.

Who failed it ,Mr B. Bunch of stults on both side who can’t agree on anything.

What do we want , the ordinary people looking for decent govt, decent conditions, decent laws, and decent policing, or a bunch of driven stults ignoring all that and just horsing everything into a United ireland ?

The kip could rot in its grave and fcuk all its inhabitants, but we want to concentrate on a UI. Screw everyone else.

    Get knotted Mr B.

Climb out of the whins and heather and smell reality.

Ah now Brendi...there'll be none of that horsing everything into a UI chat.

This will be a very rational, properly discussed move.

And one of the key factors will be our health security because as you and other like to point out the state/government has failed. Long before covid actually but now almost everyone can see the sense of an all island united approach and that's before we get to Brexit.

    Disgraceful but not surprising......

The Justice for Magdalenes group and the Adoption Rights Alliance said in a statement the sealing of the archive "means no-one will be able to access their personal records [or information] about their disappeared relatives or babies who are buried in unmarked graves".

    There is always one.

It is difficult to find anything wrong with the budget other than from a financial prudence perspective.

Leo took a good bit of flak for trying to steal Donohue and McGraths thunder - letting details slip on his twitter before either of the previous two stood up and announced it.

Phil Hogan had to resign (another time) for leaking similar.

Sinn Fein supporter calls for the border to be closed, which Varadkar opposes.

Well, there are some surprise postings but this is a good one.

Yeah, I think you have mentioned it twice or three times on various threads, but haven't really seen it anywhere else.

That is some flak that he is taking all right. Maybe you could find a few no-mark Twitter accounts to back it up.

So now it looks like people are turning on the Govt as it's clear there approach is all over the place and just not good enough

    https://www.rte.ie/news/coronavirus/2020/1014/1171568-covid-restrictions-opinion-poll/

    - 61% of adults think the Government should do more.
This is the highest percentage of people in favour of further Covid-19 restrictions since the pandemic began at the end of February.
    - Only one person in four now thinks no further restrictions should be introduced according to the tracker poll.
    - The Government's decision to reject the NPHET advice coincided with the highest level of anger express in the Tracker Poll since it started in March with almost one in five reporting that they were angry about the situation while the numbers saying they were fearful we were back up to levels last seen in April.
    - Over half (51%) of those surveyed said they thought the Government is not doing enough to contain the virus. This is the highest level of dissatisfaction with the Government's response since the start of the pandemic in Ireland.
    - 42% of people think the current reaction of the Government is appropriate, the lowest level to date
    - , the levels of anxiety and stress among the public are now as high as they ever have been according to the findings.

A few months back we'd FG lads trying in infer anyone asking questions about covid restrictions were knocking NPHET and claiming to know better. Now we've FG lads unable to comment on whether or not the government are right to ignore NPHET suggestions or agree or disagree on an all island quarantine.
Coupled with the inability to discuss anything LV says or does without getting all uppity.
I think the stress of siding with FF, (if only when it suits) and trying to deflect for Leo is getting to folk..lot of anger, always men, boys o boys, free a nipper etc.

What's an "all-island quarantine" when it's at home?

Nora has just said if the country went to Level 5 Public health advice would be sought but she said schools in Kildare, Laois and Offaly remained open when those counties were under restrictions and students continued to travel into and out of those counties for school.

These counties were under restrictions in August when Schools were closed.

How in the name of God is she still in the job?
