Bottom line is the government should have listened two weeks ago. The preparations that supposedly held this up could have been devised over the last fortnight, even if the lockdown was in place. It was as clear as day where we were heading.

I think they timed it to be opened up for Christmas. Lock down 2 weeks ago, open up, and then come the last week of December we'd be ****ed

Don’t like Donnelly, think he’s a spoofer but he was very good there.

Why do posters just ignore Level 4? Do you really imagine that NPHET will allow to happily trip back to Level 3, never mind Level 2, without a nice extended little break at Level 4?

GAA still continuing after all the crap they've caused yet small businesses having to close down. Yeah this seems fair and well thought out.

Who the Fcuk decided weddings were special anyway. Off you go and tie yourself to Mary Jane Rotten Crotch with her big ham face. Why do you need to drag 25 other dopes along for the show. Get out ta Fcuk. Nobody cares really. Most of us breath a sigh of relief at the thought of escaping stupid mandatory attendance at your "big day".

And more important than funerals? Get a grip ffs.

Halloween in less than 2 weeks, fun times.

Not a word from MM about the border or airports.
Border towns like Dundalk and Monaghan will be thronged as usual at the weekend with people coming to shop.

McDonkey smiling away at the thought of people losing their jobs. Wasn't this the idiot who predicted 100k deaths?

Would love to hear the logic behind this

There are far more funerals in November than there are weddings.

Claire put a question to Donnelly in relation to increasing ICU beds:

"We're going to keep doing what we're doing."

    Right Simon you clod.

He also said they didn’t waste the summer as seems to have been accepted as fact.

Is there any restrictions around hospital outpatient appointments in the few weeks?

No. One of the aims of level 5 is to keep as much of normal hospital services running as possible.

Give over with the Christmas is canceled. Nothing stopping people putting up decorations, buying gifts and stuffing themselves with Turkey and booze. Can still lay there farting, belching and snoring after the feed.

It is a lot different from March lockdown. Schools, construction, manufacturing all still open. Building suppliers will still be needed.

    It's level 4.5 really.

Prepare for a proper Level 5 around Christmas time.

And now RTÉ trot out Ireland's most prominent doomsayer McConkey to consolidate the misery narrative.

I've seen enough of this dreary sh1te, time for a movie.

They really should have closed the schools if they want to give a level 5 lockdown the best chance of getting numbers under control.

I have a feeling in two weeks time just before the schools are due back from midterm, is when they'll announce schools are to close.

I really can't see the kids going back after the midterm, maybe until after Christmas.

So we all knew about this last Saturday or something.

They should make the announcement and get back in the bunker and say no more. IMO. But they crave the publicity I suppose. Idiots.
