Our company is in a Debt Purchase with XYZ - meaning?

Hi,

Just curious, got an invoice from a company and in very small print in the corner was the text 'Payment Terms: Our company is in a Debt Purchase with XYZ'

XYZ being a large Irish Bank.

Was curious as to what this means?
