Pension Tracing in Ireland.

I think there's a chance I could have a few bits and pieces of pensions floating around out there from various employers I had for relatively short periods at a time. Most of these companies no longer exist and I'm not in contact with anyone who would have worked with them so I'm not sure how to even start looking into this.

I believe the UK has a government run pension tracing service, but Ireland has no equivalent. Has anyone ever used any of the "free" private companies who offer it? Can the Pensions Authority help at all?

Do you have any historical annual benefit statements?

If the employers are long gone schemes may be wound up and no longer registered with the Pensions Authority.

I don't think there's any pensions tracing service here btw.

I don't think I have any of the statements, no, I've had a few moves in the meantime, which is what's snookering me.

Any change you still have contact with some of your former colleagues and could ask them?

How short were the periods of time you worked with them? I worked with a major bank for a couple of years way back but you had to be there 5 yrs to be included in their pension scheme, not sure if other employers operated the same thing but the employer I then moved to had same rule.
