Sorry, city dweller out and out. Just saw this on Facebook, thought I'd post here, maybe somebody might have heard or even know where to spread the word.

It's an 08 3.0L crew cab. Only changed because I've 3 little ones wanting to come farming now. Crew cab Defenders have gone stupid money.

Be worth checking if the chassis was Dinitrol treated by a past owner.
If it wasn't, nows the time.
Some 2015/16 D-Max have a surprising amount of surface rust already.

Thanks Nek, was already in the plan. Was just about to send the Defender for similar before I decided it was time for a change.

If I remember right, I was quoted about €600 by a place right on the border, here in Cavan.
They claimed that they would steam wash/clean the inside and outside of the chassis, then leave it 24 hours with heaters underneath to dry it.
Then spray with a rust inhibitor, and finally finish off with a coat of Waxoyl.
    That what they claimed, anyway.

I see a place up Athboy direction also doing it.
They are on Facebook, if I can find them I'll stick up a link.

I lit it at 11 cause it was so miserable. The weather has picked up now and the Sun is shining. We got gusty winds which made the rainfall look worse.

It's more like March than May, finishing up fencing late yesterday evening I was pretty cold and ready for home.

I'm just after looking it up there, ironic that it's a hilux chassis being treated that they're showing. I let off a text to them anyway, No point letting the rust get any worse,
I'm only about 25mls from athboy

Lost my mother 5 weeks ago after a cancer battle, surreal times. Still can't believe she's actually gone.

    So sorry about your mum

I was saying to my sister today.

Today would have been a bad day in January never mind May, the rain and cold today was something else. There won't be grass around here until the first days of June if it doesn't soon take up and another bad week promised. There was more growth at Paddy's day than May day and I'm convinced that a lot of places have less grass cover than a month ago. Any ground that's waste has stalled and where there's stock it's skinned atm.

folks, any value in an old milking machine setup that hasn't been used in 20 years. Glass jars are all good but presumably any rubber hoses etc. are perished. are things like stainless pipework and herringbone steelwork any good or just scrap value?

Didn't make that much rain at all here today, but loads of wind and cool. I have grass because I haven't let the ewes into it and I haven't lambed yet. Last year there was no growth either but that was because of how dry it was. Thought we might get a break and a head start this year but it doesn't appear to be the case. I'm lucky that I have a rough parcel of ground that has molinia on it, and I haven't enough sheep to eat that stuff once it starts growing which it has already, few crystalyx buckets out with them we'll see how it goes.

That's a very good way to describe it, and not being able to meet people makes it difficult.

A place in the country where I really spotted some great grass today was south of Campile, Co.Wexford.
Didn't seem to be all for silage either but in paddocks. Must have been the lack of frost.

A bit further south again brought me on to Baginbun and Carnivan bay.

If someone had a badger coming into their garden digging up holes how can they get rid of it. They would be against the lead solution. They rang the dept of ag who were useless. Also aee thry a protected species?

Wasn't there some smell you could put around in a few places to discourage foxes I think?
But it could work with badgers maybe.
I think it was a tin of lynx Africa sprayed on a few rags and left around the place.

Must be beetles, worms, slugs or leatherjackets in the garden.

Someone suggested men's wee around the perimeter of the garden. Good job it's not a big garden :D

Could they throw down some chicken/sheep wire with stones/blocks on it over the bits they are digging? Maybe they will then feck off to somewhere easier to continue digging?
