this game is just about 4 sets in and the board is relatively spotless

Two fellas who look like they’ll wobble when the pressure comes.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,629 ✭✭✭ThebitterLemon

Searle went completely off the boil but still some managed to win that leg to pinch the 4th set

    Hopefully finishes off KH now

It’s happened to Ryan a fair few times in the past, if he could improve that area of his game he’d be a fantastic player

Absolutely delighted for Searle, decent guy, great player. I thought he was starting to crumble there but he held it together.

Hope he keeps going, if Wade wins I hope Ryan batters him

Kim will be kicking himself, blew the chance near the end to level it

Hard to see Searle going any further but crazier things have happened

Assuming Wade wins it depends on which Wade shows up, Ryan will our score him and hopefully wins it

    Another borefest
Wattimena never showed up and DvB just waaay to good

I wonder about the fast pace Dutch players - Wattimena, VvdV, JdZ - when their game is on they are great to watch and heavy scorers, but it seems that the game is only on about 20% of the time
Put Ricky Evans in that bracket too

This world championship has been very good to my bank balance so far. Going to risk it all by lumping on Wade to beat Searle.. He was lucky against Hybrechts, only beat him by 3 legs. 30% on doubles won't cut it against Wade.

Can't stand Wade so hope he gets stuffed, but my head says you may be right

Did Wade beat Bunting this afternoon? Feck it must have missed that one,

Is there no crowds anymore, not even limited ones.

I know a few matches before Chrimbo had them

Johnny the Ferret hanging on by his fingertips here, next set will be interesting

Think Cullen would benefit from a few sessions with Dirk vD’s psychologist!!!

Much better than what was offered today bar bits of Kim vs Searle

    Johnny is hardy

Think that was best match so far of the comp for me (that I’ve managed to watch!)

    Some finish by Cullen

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,281 ✭✭✭✭mdwexford

Class double double finish from Cullen after a nervy last leg.

Disgusts me that all these matches aren’t you have to win by two. You cannot change the structure of the World Championships.

    Great finish by Cullen

A bit of a cruel draw for him and he will play the winner of MVG and Evans

Cullen will take a lot of confidence from this

    good game

Totally agree, think they did it when there was to be crowds and they didn’t want delays

    No excuse now though

Id say he's fairly spooky for the players with them not having the crowd noise

Peter Wright struggling a bit here

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,281 ✭✭✭✭mdwexford

He’s banging in scores but his doubles aren’t on point at the moment.

Clemens playing nicely, much better than I expected.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,030 ✭✭✭boomdocker

Snakey in trouble if he doesn't sort his doubles out
    Clemens palying very steady

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,515 ✭✭✭shockframe

Wright is all at sea. Easy to forget he got lucky early doors last year.

Clemens red hot since the first set.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,314 ✭✭✭munster87

Wright showing his class in that set despite not being at his best

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 39,066 ✭✭✭✭PTH2009

Wright growing into the game, clemens is playing well though

that 4th set was massive either way,now i think its swung back to wright.5th set will tell a story either way

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,281 ✭✭✭✭mdwexford

That 98 to go 2-2 was clutch with Clemens waiting on 48.

Jesus Christ how did he pull that out.

Crippler for Wright after being two up in that set.

Terrific evening of darts so far

  • Registered Users Posts: 837 ✭✭✭Gotya

Wright pulled it out of the fire last year against Malicdem, he may need to something very similar here.

Opposition is tougher here, but Wright is playing a lot better than he did in that game last year

True, but he was really up against it last year and he may need a big checkout/setup to checkout here.
