    Hi all,

Have eir fibre to home for over 12 months now. Had 2.4g and 5g available. Apple phones but android tablets, printers and chrome cast etc.

Inexplicably today we are unable to connect to 2.4g on apple devices - just says network not available. I got new iPhone and set it up yesterday so can’t help but wonder if that’s the issue? Has anyone any advice? Really need to be able to connect to 2.4g.

I’m not without tech ability but am no expert either so layman’s terms would be appreciated.

    Thanks

Have you tried turning it off and on again? The router that is.

Yes, that my go-to for every tech issue I have - usually works too! But not this time sadly. I’ve also tried powering down all affected devices and “forgetting” the network and reconnecting again.

    Try disable DHCPv6 on router

I' f I'm having trouble with a router I turn it off. Turn it on again. go to settings, WiFi
Turn off. Security wireless encryption wpa1wpa 2 wep off etc
    Eg wireless encryption off
Just see if your phones can now connect to the WiFi
If you have an android phone turn on tethering WiFi use password like testing133
Can you browse the Web from
Your iPhone on the WiFi tethering mode
Install a different browser Firefox or opera
Go to YouTube see if it works on a 2min video

    When you have everything working
Go back to settings turn WiFi encryption
    On set to wpa2
Maybe make a new WiFi password
    Eg something like uSerrNO77aa
Write it down before you forget it
If that does not work change the WiFi chanell
    eg from 7 to 9

You might be getting interference from
another WiFi network broadcasting on the same WiFi channel
    as your router
There could be 5 routers in a building
    All using the same channel

I presume you mean router is using 2.4 ghz WiFi

    Go to router security settings
Turn Off Mac address filtering if it's set to On
