Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Have a baxi gas boiler approx 12 years old. Keeps showing pump fault. Got the pump changed but it still won't fire up. Any help appreciated. Thanks

Assuming this is a Baxi System boiler, what did the RGI do before changing the pump? (would be strange unless this we pump failure to be the first port of call)

Just looked at the fault that showed up and from what I told him.
Don't know if he's RGI maybe just a plumber

The pump is internal in the boiler right (a Baxi system) so any work inside the cover is gas works that requires an RGI

Rarely have I ever changed the pump when it showed pump fault on those boilers.

    Thanks for the replies.
Had an RGI out this morning . He recommended a new boiler.
I'm waiting on him to give me the exact details on the issue but my son said it was something beside the pump that was faulty. He was able to get it going but it needs that part. Upwards of 400€.
Would it be better to just get a new boiler.

Couldn't tell you. 🀔 But it seems like he was just pushing for us to buy a new one. Fair enough if it needs replacing.
Something to do with the flow meter.

Of all boilers, those baxis are basic and durable, once the system is clean. There’s a dry stat pocket in them that’s a hooor for catching dirt. But all in all they’re easy fix and maintain

Flow switch (part of the hydro block) it usually just needs a proper strip and clean.....not a new boiler!

Flow switch that was it. Yeah I suppose he either wasn't aware of that or taught I'd just go for a new boiler. 2700 seems steep.

takes about 30 mins to drain the boiler, clean the assembly out, clean filters, and you'll be good to go!!
