My mother is of the older generation and regularly has difficulty trying to watch stuff from the Internet on his smart TV. Often the easiest way to fix this is to call over to her house. Any suggestions as to how I could connect remotely onto the TV (from my house) to set things up ? It's a Panasonic with Panasonic TV OS (not Android).

I don't think this is possible unfortunately.

Not the same but you could call her on whatsapp video and tell her to change camera to the rear so you could see the screen. Then you could instruct her what she needs to do.

If she has a PC - there are windows apps

You could remotely connect to her pc via windows Request Remote Assistance built in feature. Dont know about you Panasonic model - but from my Windows PC I can control my Samsung TV.

if no PC, or suitable windows app - then Possibly there is a Panasonic Phone app - My fairly inexpensive TV can be controlled from a Phone also over wifi.

Then it a matter of remotely connecting to her lan/wifi/router while away from the house - RPI possibly with VPN software on it - or using the VPN of the router if it has it built in....
