Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Amiko mini combo - fast forwarding HD channels

I've a mini combo with an external HDD which is a great box bar one thing - fast forwarding HD channels is difficult to control. When using FF on a non HD channel you see the screen update more frequently so it's easier to see when to stop. On HD channels, presumably as they're HD, you get far less visual feedback and so I end up jumping a good bit into the program when trying to skip over ad breaks.

So, I'm thinking this is a limitation of the box (although happy to be corrected on this) and so maybe a higher powered box would handle the issue better? If a newer box is the solution what would people recommend? A more powerful amiko would be perfect, I use the sat and aerial feed into it and like the fact that all channels are listed in the same listing.

Could be limitation of box or could be the speed of what you recorded it to not able to keep up. Any idea of the speed of the hard drive? Have you tried another drive?

Hi, it's a relatively old box so no doubt it's a limitation of the drive / drive connection speed. It's a new HDD USB 3, 2.5" 5400 RPM drive...but I'd say the connection is almost definitely USB 2.
