So confident that he had it that he could sit-up and take the plaudits.

Never seen him celebrate like that before.

Also I'm delighted he ditched the sunglasses from the previous win :)

It looked more comfortable from the side than in the head on view too.

Just caught the end of that, Sam was awesome, so calm and patient and then boom.

Yep - even when he went out into the wind he didn't open up straight away.

Lads I think that Tour de France has changed Sam. He’s soooo confident now. I think, for the first time, he believes he’s the best sprinter in the race and he doesn’t think he’ll be beaten

As above, I don’t remember him celebrating a sprint win like that before

    It’s great to see

He was very patient, he knew he was the quickest.

There was a little bit of argy bargy with a DQS rider and somebody else with about 1k to go. Not sure if was Bennett or not

Loved that lead-out, loved that sprint and loved that celebration. Absolutely bossing it.

There was a fantastic moment when someone from another team, UAE I think, tried to get into DQT's train and got hit with a mighty shoulder. Jesus it was some hit, something that would make even a GAA stalwart proud.

He just said about nearly being put into the barriers with someone trying to get on his wheel. Philipsen ended up on his wheel so not sure if it was UAE or not?

edit...judging by previous post it was! Sam didn't sound happy though.

He mentioned that someone tried to put him in the barriers with about 1km to go in his post race interview.

Well done Sam. Time for RTE Sport to look up his position in the GC.

Never seen him celebrate like that before.

Think it may have been that he beat Ackermann in a straight up sprint. Bora decided to back him rather than Sam last year so nice to stick it to them.

Think the Ackermann snub really annoyed him.

Well done Sam, again! He could well rack up half a dozen Grand Tour stage wins for the season by the time this race is over.

Some strenght in depth in Deceuninck–Quick-Step. Even with Ackerman, Evenepoel and more recently Aliphilippe missing, they still have the riders to go and pick up the wins.

Comfortable win in the end. Def looked closer from dead on than the photo finish showed.

    Job done. Roll on tomorrow.

And DQS hundredth GT stage win.

Brilliant! Irish riders have won a third of the stages so far :D

Yeah, Sam definitely has a bit of a 'swagger' about him these days - the dividend of a great TdF and winning the green jersey. He didnt look to be going at 100% there in the finale whereas Ackerman was all-out and then he is sitting up before the line? Wow.
Even if the interview, he isnt afraid to confidently calls things as he sees them and that is new - he would previously have been more demure and less inclined to do so. He has that look of a guy on the top of the game. Great to see.

GC jersey being presented before the stage winner, Sam could be in trouble, wrongly, for the shoulder. Lets hope not!

Podium ceremony delayed. There is a Stewart inquiry over the incident
