    Morning All,

Just wondering if anyone has any experience or has lived in The Park Residential Village beside the Castletroy park in limerick.

It looks to be part retirement village with the apartments in the middle being rented.

There are a few apartments 1 and 2 bed up for rent and the area suits.
wanted to get people take on the place, I'm a working professional and long removed from the college life, so if full of students, which i can't imagine it is with it being a retirement village, it Would not suit.

    Any info appreciated.

    thanks in advance

I think you have to be over 55 to be considered.
    Maybe that has changed?

They used to take international students/post grads a few years back. I knew someone who was there for a year, had safety alarms around the apartment which he nearly pulled a few times thinking they were for lights/bathroom fan.

I think if there's any spare units they allow UL to advertise them to "quieter" students.

    Majority of residents are retirees.
The place was bought about a year ago by the same crowd that have the unfinished development between the milk market and Ellen St.
A lot of tension between the new owners and most longer term residents.
It shouldn't affect the OP though as it looks like the owners are keen to get away from the retirement village business as the rents are too strictly controlled.

Because of the recession, they change their model

It seems like a good place to live unless you're one of the original tenants which have been screwed over.

My team mate in work lives there and he's in his 30s

It was built during the boom. They were expecting people to pay silly money stay there.

They’re probably paying silly-er money now the way rents have gone.

everyone thanks for all the advice and help,

Moved into temporary accommodation for the time being, going to look into the residential village further in the coming weeks.

very difficult to get any viewing anywhere due to current conditions.

but on average costing in the residential village is a lot lower than city center for 2 bed place.
and if the photo's are anything to go by a higher standard of living and security also.

    thanks again
