Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I,m looking for advice , can anyone recommend a laptop repair shop within
2 mile s of the city centre dublin .
i plugged in an old laptop , dell 1750.
the power light is on on the power supply.
the laptop has no lights on , i press the power button it does not power on.
is there a place that looks at the laptop and gives you an estimate,
    eg motherboard is damaged,
it,ll cost x amount to fix it ,eg 75 euro approx.

that 2009 laptop is really to slow to be of any use in 2020

    it was a low-end laptop in 2009.

wouldn't bother putting any money into it.

you'd be much better off putting the money into a better second-hand laptop

look for an intel i3 minimum, min 6gb ram and ssd drive

(or even one without an ssd and doing the ssd upgrade yourself)

    unplug power
    remove battery ,
    hold on/off for a minute

reseat RAM , does it beep ?

2009 - back up the HDD as it's way beyond it's design life

Check price second hand on adverts , ebay and swap the drive if you really need the same model
