Could I use this amp to power the front speakers of a HT setup via the pre outs on a AVR and would that be a good idea.
Now I know I should be using an amp with HT bypass but so far I've been unable to find one that is well cheap enough and will do what I want it to do. The £999 CA CXA81 doesn't seem to have a HT bypass either!
So not exactly ideal but would it work okay if the pre amp was connected to the AV inputs and the volume level set and then left at the correct level for movies.

Seems like a good amp on paper, plenty of power lots of inputs. I'm hoping for better quality music and maybe I could still use the AVR for things like AirPlay and make use the AVR USB if I needed to.

    Thanks

    Hi HDR42,

    Thanks for the post!

Adding a separate amplifier for your fronts would give you a better sound and a bit more power! I would recommend a power amplifier for the fronts but again you would be looking around the £1000 mark for something like the Roksan K3 Power! Plus with a power amp you wouldn't be able to use the fonts independently for music so if you did add the AVRX100 to the system you would just need to be careful with the levels!

Let me know what you think!

    Kind regards

    David
