Cavan haven’t been blown away by any means, but Dublin haven’t hit top gear yet either.

A goal at either end could make this a decent game yet

If this Dublin turn up in the final Mayo will give them a severe beating.

    Either end!?

Wasn't a deliberate pull down. Cooper seemed to lose his footing.

You dont grab someones arm and pull them to the ground by accident.

Cavan held on for about 25 minutes in fairness.

Wouldn't be writing Tipp off just yet.

    Great cavan point, McKiernan

Cooper built his career on the dark arts.

    The refs haven’t coped on

It's incredible how much he gets away with it. Horan called him out on it before, refs didn't seem to take notice, unlike when Dublin alumni rounded up on Keegan. Cooper isn't as obvious as Keegan though. Slyer.

They look like they have several gears still to go, I wouldn’t get too excited

Its a new team, will do well to get past Tipp.

Yea, two ends to a football pitch.

That was a pure rugby tackle... another fûcking joke of a referee, Jesus. Giving Cavan everything and anything..standard of refereeing is of jokeshop standard last couple of years.

Well at least Cavan turned up unlike Meath and have a bit about them which is nice to see.

    Very poor game
Dublin seem to be sleep walking to victory, cavan doing well but there is a gulf

Fair play to Cavan. They have made it very difficult for a number of players to get comfortable, but it's impossible to stop them all. Dublin largely being carried by Fenton, Kilkenny and of course Rock with some super scores. First 10 minutes of the second half will be very interesting indeed

They won't (on the proviso they win ) and I think you know that.

Give Cavan and Tipperary a modicum of respect.

    So quit your usual trolling.

    Just Kiernan

Half time Dublin 0-12 Cavan 0-7. Decent half of football closer game than many expected but can cavan keep that workrate and energy levels going for 70 mins?

I feel like Cavan are trying to survive playing into the breeze. We should see a more aggressive approach at the start of the second. Almost certainly won't be enough, but I admire them not showing much fear

Cavan half backs and half forwards have been good... Dublin need to attack with more pace, run AT Cavan with a runner on their shoulder... draw a free or get a shot away.

Cavan look exhausted and have gave it everything already whereas Dublin are still in first gear.

    Paddy Small too.

Cavan will have the breeze 2 half, hopefully they come out and kick a few unanswered points to make a game of it

Dublin usually puff up a big win 60-75min. When the other team are out on their feet.

You're right. Small has been very lively, don't know how I forgot him.

I suppose its almost as daunting as a full Hill 16 doing similar to the opposition :D

Just sounds pretty poor on TV. But if they feel they need to do it, let them off.

  • Registered Users Posts: 9,286 ✭✭✭seligehgit

Missed the first minute or so.

I wasn't even aware there was a hint of a breeze.

Madden needs to come off, just hasn't gotten into it, that alone will help Cavan. On the other hand, wait until the Dubs start making changes.

Fair play to Cavan but Dublin are like a cat toying with their prey

Let’s hope Cavan raise their game in the second half.
The bigger pitch is a help to the Dubs.
