    Online edition I'd imagine.

    Welcome to 2021.

Most government terms are four years.

Would be funny if you’d gotten the number of years right! It’s a maximum of 5 years.

He stated MOST are 4 years

Without combing through the lengths of the previous 32 Dails, I would have thought "most" of them would have reached full term.

All government terms are five years. Whether they last that long is a different question.

Someone hoping for a four-year term for this government is hoping, not thinking rationally.

Let them at it. All they have is scraps to work with. It is 'silly season' after all ;)

If Covid goes and FF are scraping for double figures in the polls Varadkar will manufacture a reason to go, probably use Ryan as a proxy

Ironic, since you have haunted this thread from the start!!

Why would Varadkar force an election when he gets the chance to be Taoiseach, and then leave open the accusation that Martin could maintain the coalition for 2.5 years, but he couldn't?

They will last five years, barring some major cock-up. Given the crisis they have already dealt with, that means the five years is more likely.

They wont,as fg in particular, are toxic as fcuk right now as a coalition parthner,tm

Yous need only look at way.varadkar and co carry on,undermining martin and ff openly....cant see too many wanting to take on,being their fools

They wont get enough to make a one party government for a generation.....and i couldnt see a ff ard deis passing another coalition, particularly as they would likely be a junior party

Whatever way,it pans out after that, fcuk knows, but then again, the mans ego,is quite evidently prone to go at times out of control, anything could happen

Martins party will dump him in a heartbeat when we hit 80% vaccination which should be June this year but I suspect it will be waylaid to keep the dream alive, killing people to stay in power, thats not going to play well with any electorate

I’ve searched Examiner for anything on either Leo or Village magazine and there’s nothing. Maybe it’s another newspaper they meant?

    So you made it up?

Leo really has done a number on certain posters here.

It's hilarious, he must haunt their dreams:)

Look the man is wracking up bad decisions. The leaking of confidential contracts was probably his lesser error. I'd be more worried about the opening up at Christmas that he was the champion of. Lots of bereaved families due to his hubris.

Would you not be better placed directing that worry at the Minister for Health, and maybe the Taoiseach as well, rather than the Minister for Jobs? Not sure why you would see Varadkar as the champion of that decision when he wouldn't have been the one making it.

Nah sure didn't he put out his video at Christmas going on about restaurant and pub dining?
The safest place in europe he bragged.

He said: "At the moment, the good news is that the Republic of Ireland is the safest place in Europe to be with the exception only of Iceland."

He put out a video so its all on him then rather than the Minister for Health that would have actually brought it to cabinet?

I get the impression sometimes that people on here think we have a one man Government and all decisions are made by Varadkar.

    Obsessed.

He must be doing something right to really upset the SF supporters so much.

They literally spend their days hating on him every minute.

I find it amusing, sure he does too:)
