Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    God it’s so sloppy

He was pushed which didn't help

Yeah, too many variables to say it was a probable try.

Keenan was reaching back over his head to gather that ball with support rushing over. I think its probably better than 50/50 he scores, but no way is it almost definite.

    **** off Barnes.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,773 ✭✭✭cython

That has to be a Penalty try. I happen to think the Yellow Card is harsh, Sonny Bill got one for similar when he switched code because he was used to doing it in league, complete brainfart. Could see the realisation that he'd ****ed up afterwards there.

    Ah well.

Had it been a penalty try there's an automatic yellow though as the offending player is clearly identifiable.

Neither Beirne nor Doris are supporting their body weight. Only for the knock on it’s a clear penalty the other way.

That was a clear penalty try to me.

Only question from the replay was which of the two Irish players would have gathered the ball and scored.

Why do they keep saying that we have to win by 13?

If France do not score again we need 13 points to win the 6 nations

Keenan would have had to or it was a knock on.

But I've no doubt he would have gathered albeit the TV official felt the variables were too great.

Fair enough, was unaware of that. Just that IMO yellows are harsh if there's no malice in advance or safety issue.

So lucky Aki caught that. We'd butchered that line out.

Eire decision making is awful. Trying to kick for goal when it’s 60m and turning down a kickable penalty. Heads seem fried

France are still down a full back. The extra body for Ireland is a massive advantage from a set piece that close in.

A man advantage in the backs and we play tight?

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,099 ✭✭✭BringBackMick

    Try needed here

Irish control in the forwards (or lack thereof) is worrying. Every time they take the ball into contact it looks like France might turn it.

You would never guess we were the team with 15.

Cynical play though. Was no attempt to regather it, only to slap it out of play

We struggled to get that against 14, really need to focus now and no silly mistakes

Yeah but I don't think he meant to do anything he knew was wrong in the moment. If that's how the laws are then no complaints though.

Never doubted ye lads....deserved try after we were robbed of penalty try.

Big fan of reading these threads when Barnes is reffing. One of the better referees but if you never watched a game and just read these threads you would assume he won a competition.

Good try for Healy, Ireland playing well!

Why did the commentators say Ireland need to win by 13 now after the french try?

Did the commentator just question whether Healy has bulimia? Random.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,543 ✭✭✭dublinman1990

Ooooh. Healy was in trouble there. I hope he's alright.

Bulimia? Asked Brian Moore. Jesus wept.

Score 13 at that time to be in a winning position, pretty stupid comment to make at the point in the game.

It’s likely to be a common thread here, but we ain’t going to get the steam off Barnes’ pi€€ tonight.

That scrum, the ball was only out to CJ’s base and that prix& is roaring “Use it”

    FFS.

How he also deduced that Keenan was not going to score was also quite baffling

Probably meant in terms of rest of game. Or is that giving them too much credit?

Clear penalty there, French player played the ball from wrong side of the ruck.

Sextons kicking from hand has been excellent so far.
