    That's amazing!

    Hill of Crosses

Now that is different. Plenty of other churches, castles, etc. already through but I have never seen anything like the Hill of Crosses before.

The Soviets actually bulldozed the hill to the ground (it's not huge). I think they did it twice. The locals rebuilt the shrine each time.

It's kind of cool. Gets my vote

Wow the Crosses i'll vote for! What a weird and whacky place that is. Fair play to whoever nominated that one

Trakai Island Castle a castle, on an island, sitting in a picturesque lake. What's not to love - and its got a causeway.

    Hill of Crosses

looks so unusual but its amazing

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,037 ✭✭✭Cosmo Kramer

The Hill of Crosses, it really is something completely different to the usual landmarks. The castle is also lovely and the gate of dawn is an interesting place to visit in Vilnius too, but I have to vote for the Hill of Crosses.

The island castle is like a colourful, pretty Lough Derg.

But the hill of crosses is both cool and creepy. It gets the vote

It's just a Catholic shrine. Leave a cross. Bigger crosses would be larger groups rather than individuals

it looks like something Kat Von D might have in her garden

I think it was originally a place of remembrance for Lithuanians killed by the Soviets who's bodies couldn't be recovered. Now though, anyone can go as a place of pilgrimage and add a cross. They're over 100,000 crosses and growing.

My main takeaway from visiting Lithuania was that the place wasn't remotely Russian and it made absolutely no sense that it was ever part of the Soviet Union. It's as Catholic a place as you'll ever visit.

    Petronas Towers

The best out of a bad round imo.

    Petronas Towers

Like something from a superhero/science fiction film, awesome looking

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 51,544 Mod ✭✭✭✭Necro

All three are my noms so I don't really mind what goes through. Dinner In The Sky was an incredible experience though.

The Skybridge between the Twin Towers is awesome as well, and Genting Highlands is just amazing.

Omg, is that dinner in the sky thing real?
    How totally vomit inducing.
    Scary

    Petronas Towers
Very impressive building, best out of these 3

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,511 ✭✭✭Purgative

Petronas Tower - impressive, would I walk across the road to see them - no.

    Theme Park - nah.

Dinner in the sky - we'll give it a bash.

  • Registered Users Posts: 29,374 ✭✭✭✭HeidiHeidi

Dinner in the Sky seems to be a franchise, not unique to Malaysia (open to correction on a quick Google) - so Petronas Towers get my vote this time

  • Registered Users Posts: 10,969 ✭✭✭✭alchemist33

    Petronas Towers.

Reminds me of Catherine Zeta Jones' bum, and Sean Connery RIP.

    And they're cool

You wouldn't need to walk across the road to see them; you can see them from miles away. Especially at night.

Once you go inside, it's just an office really with a nice lift. But sure lookit, I'll vote for it.
