Gengis Khan statue looks magnificent and I'm hoping that the roof is more than felt and board.

    It's really cool mind.

Ghengis statue - it's literally the only thing I could even vaguely identity with Mongolia!

    Hustai National Park.

Cos huge open scenery like that it what Mongolia is all about.

The status is cool, but it's just the Government throwing money away on a folly to honour a mass murderer. Though maybe that's what Mongolia is all about too. :)

    Ghengis Khan Statue.
I suspect that the national park is more impressive in real life but the initial wow of Ghengis got my vote

The Bay of Kotor for me. Beautiful part of the world - and the old town of Kotor is spectacular too.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,037 ✭✭✭Cosmo Kramer

Kotor old town is lovely, but possibly a bit of a Dubrovnik-lite feel to it.

Our Lady of the Rocks has a lovely setting, out on an island by itself in the middle of the bay, so it gets the vote.

Ah, Montenegro..... Another place that I've nearly made it to, but not quite, not for the want of trying though!

If and when I do get there, I'll definitely be going to see that church!!

Our Lady of the Rocks gets my vote.

(I gave The Tinnies a wave from us all as I passed them by earlier :D )

Our Lady of the Rocks that featured on an episode of Coach Trip (OK I'm the saddest - get over it). Apparently there's a special picture of JC that was thrown in the sea and it magically reappeared a number of times.

Our Lady of the Rocks because the story is really cool...
    wiki wrote:
According to legend, the islet was made over the centuries by local seamen who kept an ancient oath after finding the icon of Madonna and Child on the rock in the sea[2] on July 22, 1452.[3] Upon returning from each successful voyage, they laid a rock in the Bay. Over time, the islet gradually emerged from the sea.[4] The custom of throwing rocks into the sea is alive even nowadays. Every year on the sunset of July 22, an event called fašinada in the local dialect, when local residents take their boats and throw rocks into the sea, widening the surface of the island, takes place.[2]

    Gotta go for

    Kinderdijk Windmills

The other one looks like a crazy golf hole :D

  • Registered Users Posts: 13,366 ✭✭✭✭Kolido

Muiderslot for me, bit more unique than the windmills.

Slightly poor selection for Holland it must be said.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,037 ✭✭✭Cosmo Kramer

I'll go Muiderslot, but the Netherlands isn't really a country of major landmarks, the windmills are commonplace and everything else is a bit meh.

  • Registered Users Posts: 779 ✭✭✭ChannelNo5

I need context here. what's the story with Muiderslot? Is it theme park or some mad fellas folly?
