    Ephesus

    Ancient ruins win hands down.

I think the full buildings have to triumph over the half building. So it's a choice between the Hagia Sophia and the Blue Mosque. I wasn't bothered with the queues for the Hagia Sophia when I was there if I'm honest :o - so the Blue Mosque gets my vote.

I love all these places, but I'll vote for Ephesus here.

It's ancient but so complete, they even have concerts in the amphitheatre.
It's very interesting and there is so much more still to excavate.

Normally I would go for Hagia Sophia, but the fact that it was recently converted to a mosque again is a no no.
    Thus going for Ephesus

I'll vote for Ephesus, mainly because the two mosques are pretty much next to each other in Istanbul and cancel each other out a bit so it's hard to pick one.

The blue mosque looks amazing. I love a good ruin though.

    Ephesus

    Do they really???

That's swayed me, so! Although I've heard brilliant things about the mosques as well..... a hard one, this!

    Gonna go with

    Maidan Nezalezhnosti

More impressive landmark imo. I like the ferris wheel but there's likely bigger and better ones nominated... I think..

Lavra complex is the most impressive looking of those three.......

    So that gets my vote.

I'm going to have to go for Pripyat. There's just something haunting about that Ferris Wheel.

    Pripyat
Famous for all the wrong reasons but I think it would be amazing to visit, although it's probably not possible

Hm. All my nominations. Makes it a tough choice I guess.

Pripyat is Pripyat; it's an eerie place to be and there's still some school books in situ and plenty of communist-era propaganda about. But the central square is too - there's still signs of the revolution from a few years back (a big building burnt out for example), and it's generally spectacularly Soviet as well (though they won't want to hear that). And Lavra is great too; underground cavers with the preserved bodies of the saints, and also some beautiful (and very much used) churches. It's great to stand outside and listen to the singing billowing out.

So - I think Pripyat after all that. It's time travel as well as real travel.

Ukraine is a great country btw. Well worth a visit.

Haven't seen any in person, so will go for Maidan Nezalezhnosti here.
Just because it's in the main square of Kiev.

Well - that's not "just" a Ferris wheel btw...!

    Pripyat

Whenever I see that ferris-wheel it always sends shivers down my spine.

It is absolutely possible to visit Pripyat (well not right now, but Covid aside there are tours that go there every day).

Lavra Complex, that photo doesn't really do it justice

Yep that's my view too, more by eliminating the other two.

Pripyat - had a one hour history chat with one of the kids today & it actually started with a curious question about chernobyl :)

    Maidan Nezalezhnosti.
Pripyat is iconic but not sure I'd want it representing my country. I'd say it's really interesting to visit tho
