    This is more interesting.

I'm going to keep being outdoorsy and go with the Grand Canyon. I think it qualifies as a landmark more than many of the other outdoors places we've seen, and it looks spectacular. Definitely on my to-do list!

    Grinnell Glacier Trail

This was much tougher. They're all pretty cool but gotta go with this one, picturesque. Very nearly went Empire State Building mind.

    Grand Canyon
There are so many great places in this round, I feel bad voting against them especially Statue of Liberty but the Grand Canyon looks epic and I'm jealous of anyone on here who may visited it

    Statue of Liberty
To me this is an exact definition of a landmark, the location is brilliant and she is so iconic!!

2025 gigs: Selofan, Alison Moyet, Wardruna, Gavin Friday, Orla Gartland, The Courettes, Scissor Sisters, Nine Inch Nails, Stipe, The Rocky Horror Show, Rhiannon Giddens, New Purple Celebration, Foil Arms and Hog, Nova Twins

Central Park beautiful to have a park like that in between such a busy city

Can you break that down sloooowly please

    Grinnell Glacier Trail

Hands down the most impressive of the lot, absolutely stunning.

All I can think of when I see that Washington Mall picture is the unmerciful row over numbers at Trump's inauguration :D

Statue of Liberty gets my vote.

Is there actually a more iconic landmark in the world?? Stood out there in the middle of NY harbour, gateway to the Free World for so many millions over the years?

Unfortunately it was closed when I was in NY, so I never got to climb it, but it's a very impressive sight from the water nearby.

    (No Yosemite though :( )

Was going to go for the grand canyon but will Vote Statue of Liberty instead. Iconic, a history of national friendship, a symbol of hope, and a great role in Ghostbusters

I will vote for Grinnell Glacier Trail, it's not the first place that would come to mind when you think of the USA but it is stunning. I do also love Central Park though, this match is stacked.

Statue of liberty - just does what says on the tin. First thing I think of with USA.

    Empire State Building

It deserves a vote! I love the art deco buildings in New York & this is recognisable worldwide I think.....

    This is more like it!

Has to be lady liberty though, screams America. Literally welcome to America. And the tour is amazing, especially if you get to go up the crown

Tricky round but have to go with...

    Grand Canyon

I can envisage myself as a notorious gunslinger hiding out there.

    Golden Gate Bridge

I did nominate it in fairness and I love me a good bridge, this one is probably the best of them all.

Well given that America has just gained liberty and freedom from Donald Trump in the last 10 minutes it seems appropriate to vote for the Statue of Liberty.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,846 ✭✭✭✭Electric Nitwit

Exactly the playoff I'd have picked :)

I'll go for the Statue of Liberty for these reasons again...

Plus the connection to France is cool...

Statue of Liberty is more unique and synonymous with the USA

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,511 ✭✭✭Purgative

Statue of Liberty just says America more than the bridge.

    Statue of Liberty.

Absolutely iconic. Gorgeous statue that surely must be recognised by nearly everyone in the world!

Symbol of freedom and welcomed millions of immigrants to the USA.

And a damn fine sight standing there in the middle of NY Harbour.

I don't know if these two underwhelm me because I've seen them so often, or because ultimately they're just a bridge and a statue and other places do have better nominations.

I guess the knock-outs will tell, but for me there's better bridges out there, but the statue is decent enough, so it's Statue of Liberty for me (even if, like someone previously, it was closed when I was there)

A symbol, a history and a great monument. Statue of Liberty
