Right, one more and then I HAVE to go out to do the shopping!

I've wasted an hour already, and could easily lose the day to this

(Unless you can tell me if and when there's a wee break coming up???)

    Gonna go for

    Sydney Opera House (Australia)

I LOVE the super-villain fortress but the Opera House definitely is a tier above it.

Ahhhh..... beauty vs the beast this time!

Beauty gets my vote - Sydney Opera House. Such an iconic landmark.

    And.... sails.

Dammit - missed a couple of rounds (though I would have voted for both winners anyway)

This is another tough one though. I'm inclined to say the Opera House is the better landmark - or is it just the better-known?

I think I voted against the Belarus one in both wildcards, but not for any particular reasons against it - so I'm minded to change that now and give it my vote here. Though I think the Opera House will win through

    Sydney Opera House.
An amazing example of great modern architecture.

2025 gigs: Selofan, Alison Moyet, Wardruna, Gavin Friday, Orla Gartland, The Courettes, Scissor Sisters, Nine Inch Nails, Stipe, The Rocky Horror Show, Rhiannon Giddens, New Purple Celebration, Nova Twins

    Sydney Opera House (Australia)

Looks better imo. Those sails are so recognisable.

Sydney Opera House definitely the more famous of these two, but being honest if I had a choice of which one I most wanted to see I'd go to Brest - I accept I'll probably be in the minority here but I just love mad Eastern European stuff like that.

So Brest Hero Fortress for me.

    Sydney Opera House
A landmark known all around the world, its got a unique layout and is pretty awesome looking

Sydney Opera House definitely the more 'landmarky' of the two but I agree with Cosmo above - I'd be more likely to travel to see Brest Hero Fortress!!

That being said, I'm still going to vote for Sydney Opera House - instantly recognisable.

That mosque is class but for me

    Atlantic Ocean Road (Norway)

the road would be more exciting :D

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 7,453 Mod ✭✭✭✭cdeb

Not sure if I can really vote for a landmark I'm banned from seeing.

So the ocean road it is

    Atlantic Ocean Road
The mosque is really impressive too but I really want to drive along this road, it looks wonderful and is now on my bucket list of places to go

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 31,786 ✭✭✭✭HeidiHeidi

Atlantic Ocean Road for me. That picture is incredible - it's Norway, there's the sea, a scenic drive, what's not to love!

(And I have the shopping more or less done so you can keep going if you want :D)

Atlantic Ocean Road! Would love a spin on that in crazy weather

I'd love to drive it in the slowest (but comfiest) jalopy I could find!!

Atlantic Ocean Road for me also. I'd imagine Mecca is hugely impressive, but given that I'm banned from ever visiting as a non Muslim, it's difficult for me to vote for it.

Atlantic Ocean Road (Norway) for me too. Water is great, and especially in a place like that.

We'll soldier on with another one so. A Eurasian battle it is.

    Definitely Stari Most for me.

I've a huge soft spot for Mostar, and that bridge is a really potent symbol of all that happened in recent years in that part of the world.

    Plus, it's beautiful.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,186 ✭✭✭Cosmo Kramer

Tough one, they're both very impressive. Stari Most feels like more of a landmark though than the bay, which covers a huge area. Admittedly I'm biased because I've been to Mostar and I nominated it. But I think the bridge is a fantastic landmark and a stunning setting for the centre of a city so it gets my vote.

Yeah, I think this captures it. Both similar in a way (beautiful water features), but the bridge has that extra bit of combining man-made with nature and is more a landmark alright. So the Bridge for me

    Ha-Long Bay (Vietnam)

So many good times associated with Ha-Long for me so have to vote for it here.
