    St Basil's Cathedral (Russia)

    Love this building!

The Valley. Looks glorious. It just makes you want to go for a long walk along it and then take a dip in that cool blue water.

    Yeah agree with bubblypop

    St Basil's Cathedral (Russia)

    Class building.

It's a lovely valley, but it's no match for what isn't close to the finest building in Russia.

    So St Basil's for me.

    St. Basil's for me.

So unusual, brought a smile to my face, the complete antidote to the very staid, grim Kremlin beside it.

    Steg Valley

    It's just so picturesque.

    Øresund Bridge (Sweden)

Can't resist a good underwater tunnel and bridge!!

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 7,245 Mod ✭✭✭✭cdeb

I think Angkor is probably an even more impressive feat technologically, when you consider what was available to the respective builders.

Again, not an easy choice, but Angkor Wat for me here.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,511 ✭✭✭Purgative

An 8km bridge that goes to an artificial island and then turns into a tunnel. What's not to love?

  • Registered Users Posts: 779 ✭✭✭ChannelNo5

Øresund Bridge (Sweden) it just an amazing feat of engineering

I remember my first time seeing that bridge from an aeroplane, could not understand where it was going! Thought maybe it hadn't been finished...

But, my vote for Ankor Wat, amazing temple, amazing country

    Oresund Bridge for me.

That over/under aspect of it just fascinates me, plus it looks like a beautiful piece of engineering.

I'm torn but Øresund Bridge (Sweden) just pips it for me, even though they are very different from each other. As has already been said, the engineering is beautiful!

    Oresund Bridge.

Close one but dealing with the sea is rarely easy and this is an engineering masterclass.

    Ooof, that's a hard one!!

But I'll have to go for Dubrovnik - I was absolutely blown away by it when I first saw it, it's still far and away the most beautiful Old Town I've ever been in, and the walls make for a fabulous afternoon walk. Plus, it had the **** bombed out of it in the war (completely needlessly), and has been beautifully and sensitively restored.
