    Wieliczka Salt Mine (Poland)

Although I was supposed to be going to Dubrovnik earlier this year, stupid Covid-19.

Humm where would I rather be down the cold salt mine or wandering round Dubrovnik looking at the Adriatic.

    Dubrovnik

I'm starting to think that an actual town may not be a landmark.......
Maybe they should be in the best towns/cities thread
    Dubrovnik is fab

My vote for Wieliczka Salt Mine (Poland)

There are some great Old Towns around Europe but Dubrovnik is on another level entirely, it's immaculately presented and preserved.

So Dubrovnik Old Town for me.

The Salt Mines are more unique, and also spectacular-looking. They're higher up on my to-visit list than Dubrovnik (maybe I'm being harsh on it because I get a sense of over-tourism there)

So the Salt Mines for me.

I've visited both and the Salt mines are just more unique and imporessive.

    Salt Mines

Nearly missed this, was too busy reading food thread's!

I'll go with Old Town I'm sure there would be more for me to do than the a visit to the Salt mines

It’s another saved by the bell moment as the buzzer eliminates the Polish entry.

    Himeji Castle (Japan)

Ghost town surely interesting but I prefer the castle.

    Himeji Castle (Japan)

No competition here, looks far superior.

Whats the time limit Omack? sorry late joining this - guessing my vote was late but were others too ?
is it not 5 -5 after 30 mins?

This is really tough because I have voted for both of these previously.

I think I might sway for the Castle though because I think its stunning & Japan is top of my bucket list too

    Himeji Castle (Japan)

    Unique looking building

I'll have to vote for the castle here - Wiki tells me that entry by the public to the ghost town is forbidden, so does that even count as a landmark if you can't visit it? (Same rationale used by a lot of posters for the mosque in Mecca).

The castle looks amazing, beautiful and interesting.

I find the ghost town fascinating, but as landmarks of the world go I think Himeji Castle is more deserving of the vote here.

Himeji Castle - love a castle and this looks a brilliant example

The abandoned Cypriot village, interesting sure but what a downer. No.

    20 minutes per match

    Himeji Castle
Love its unique design and its more of a landmark than the ghost town

I love a ghost town, but have to agree that in this case, the castle is very Japanese, and a great example to boot. So it's a better landmark for me.

Incredible view vs crazy golf hole? Another no contest for me :P

This is one of the finds of the tourney for me tbh.
