    Schafberg Peak
This one is an easy choice, the peak is incredible I had never heard of it before but now it's on my bucket list of places to visit

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,647 ✭✭✭SineadSpears

As much as there wouldn't be any hope of me visiting it, I'll vote for Schafberg Park because it would be so cool to have a photo of yourself standing at the top of that

    Schafberg Peak, hands down.

    That's just mad, Ted!

    The castle.

Although I can't wait to read up on the ghost town

Schafberg Peak the views look fantastic and there's a railway with a real train.

    The mudslot thing is OK

Schafberg Peak and it's not even close.

Yep - the only thing that would improve the peak is to have a pub right there.

Oh wait - there is one. Right there at the drop-off looking out to that view. With a pint in your hand.

    Hands down winner here.

I'd put a sneaky few quid on that being the hands down winner of the whole thing, tbh - for sheer spectacle, it's hard to beat!

Ah, now, don't be like that!!

Was that the first unanimous winner?

Think the Japanese Castle might have gotten a whitewash win before the buzzer went. May have been one or two last round too.

Happening a little later than advertised, Ireland is up next.

The Skelligs are as dramatic as Monte Titano, but a mile or two out to sea.

So it gets through on that basis I think.

    Skellig Islands (Ireland)

Without a doubt, & getting more impressive when I see landmarks from other countries

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,037 ✭✭✭Cosmo Kramer

I like hilltop castles so Monte Titano gets my vote here. Also not convinced that the Skelligs should be in this anyway since they were also rans in the Irish competition!

    Monte Titano (San Marino)

Skelligs lost the All-Ireland and are only here on a technicality, I'm voting for the awesome castle on a huge hill.

    Skelligs, all day long!!

Should have won the Irish tournament hands down if you ask me.

Delighted I caught this one, I'll be MIA for the next hour, hope I don't miss any crucial votes!!!

At the risk of excommunication Monte Titano. Its impressive. I always wonder how they built these things, down the side of a cliff. Wonder what the locals call it for short?

    Skellig Islands (Ireland)

The history, the beauty, the location all works in its favour.

    Petronas Towers this time.

Much more a spectacle than the old town (which I'm sure is perfectly lovely, but no Dubrovnik!!)

    Petronas

    Petronas Towers (Malaysia)

Big ass skyscrapers get my vote here over another old town.

Skybridge between the two is particularly impressive.

Old v new again here. Petronas Towers are reasonably interesting, but for me wouldn't be a patch on some of the other modern buildings nominated such as Marina Bay Sands and Burj Khalifa. So Riga Old Town gets my vote here.
