Posh office block meh. As navigational point you sure wouldn't miss but nah.

I'd be far more interested in visiting Riga old town. Nice open air restaurant - lovely.

    Petronas Towers
Really impressive towers, the bridge connecting them is a pretty cool idea

Petronas towers, its where i realised I've a bit of a fear of heights

How the hell did Angkor Wat get knocked out by Oresund Bridge. Its an amazing piece of work but Angkor Wat is different gravy. I'll be pot committed to the Skelligs from here on in : D

    I will vote for Riga.
My best friend is from Latvia and Riga has been on my list for a while now.

    Petronas Towers

Like before, a town is a town, not a landmark

    This one is much tougher.

Love both and don't mind what progresses... but...

    Beachcomber Island (Fiji)

I can just picture myself lying on that beach soaking up the rays

    Perito Moreno Glacier
The island would be a lovely place to stay for a few weeks but the Glacier is a better landmark and should win this

    Perito Moreno Glacier (Argentina)

Unique & a landmark that may not be a landmark for much longer

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,037 ✭✭✭Cosmo Kramer

The glacier for me. The island looks idyllic and I'd like to go there but it doesn't have the landmark wow factor that the glacier does.

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 7,258 Mod ✭✭✭✭cdeb

The island would drive you nuts after a few weeks I think! It's about five minutes to walk from one end to the other.

Beautiful spot though, and about as stereotypically Fiji as I could come up with.

But it's found its match in the glacier - equally beautiful in its own way, but far bigger and more impressive. So Perito Moreno for me

I havent been to the Glacier and it looks deadly.

I've been to beachcomber and its nice and all but there's nicer islands in Fiji. Its basically a large hostel. Decent and fun though

    Glacier for me

    Glacier for me too.

I seem to be having an afternoon of going against the flow.

I'm unlikely to visit either but Beachcomber Island and I don't think we'll get to a tie breaker.

Dang, just missed out just that one, but would have gone for the glacier (seeing as I nominated it!). It's amazing, a worthy winner IMO.

    Leitisvatn (Denmark)

    Breathtaking.

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 7,258 Mod ✭✭✭✭cdeb

Ouch. Two very similar landmarks. I think Leitisvatn is more unusual - almost like an optical illusion in a way - so it shades the vote for me. Angel Falls obviously very impressive too though.

Think I'll side with the Danes in this case

    Leitisvatn.
I like so much the whole lake over the sea element!
