Leitsvaten for me too..... I'm sure Angel Falls are spectacular, but that lake is just wildly unusual, and absolutely beautiful!

    oooof.

Going to have to go with Taj Mahal. Magnificent building

When I saw Tanzania go straight in to round 1, I thought it was for the Serengeti actually. But Kili is more of a landmark I guess. I don't think it has the splendour of the Taj Mahal though, and you can probably find litter piled near both, so Taj Mahal for me

It hasn't been a great tournament for mountains - Everest and Matterhorn both gone out, Kilimanjaro possibly going out here as well.

I have to go for the Taj Mahal all the same though, one of the ultimate man made landmarks and deserves to go deep in this competition.

Yeah, I think Taj Mahal shades it for me, slightly..... super recognisable, as opposed to the mountain, which I'm not sure I'd have recognised if I wasn't told what it was!

    Kilimanjaro I'll go for

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,511 ✭✭✭Purgative

Well I would have gone for the Taj Mahal but seeing that pile of shoite near it - I've fallen out of love.

Mount Kilimanjaro - the fourth most prominent peak on Earth, nearly 6Km high.

    Taj Mahal
A beautiful landmark recognised all over the world

    Mount Kilimanjaro (Tanzania)

Mountain versus building, no competition here

Burj Khalifa just because I think its very impressive looking

Liking the mix of newcomers and qualifiers in this round.

Another toughie here between two iconic buildings. I'll vote Petra because of its age (and Indiana Jones link of course)

    Burj Khalifa (United Arab Emirates)

    Super impressive building

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,511 ✭✭✭Purgative

Petra because a world heritage site trumps a posh hotel and office block.

  • Registered Users Posts: 26,354 ✭✭✭✭breezy1985

Petra looks like it took a bit more imagination

  • Registered Users Posts: 29,372 ✭✭✭✭HeidiHeidi

Petra for me .... old doesn't always trump new, but it does in this case for me!

Plus, Petra is by some distance the one of those two that I'd far prefer to visit.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,712 ✭✭✭Sawduck

    Petra
I'll vote for the most historic one this round

Burj Khalifa, I just love super tall building.

Burj Khalifa. I like Petra too but the Burj is the tallest building in the world and deserves to go further, you don't get much more of a landmark than that.
