Oh, the Atomium for me in this one!!

It's wacky, completely different, has interesting stuff inside it, and makes for a great landmark in Brussels.

Went to the Atomium as a 12y/o - it was quite fantastic, but Neuschwanstein Castle

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,712 ✭✭✭Sawduck

    Neuschwanstein Castle
It's a beautiful castle perched up on that hilltop, it also was the inspiration for the Disney Castle

Probably the most clear cut one so far - Neuschwanstein on another level here. In my opinion the most visually striking of the many castles we have seen in this tournament.

    Neuschwanstein Castle (Germany)

As castles go that one is spectacular, as is the setting it is in

Oh dearie me.... I'm feeling kinda lonely in this one!!

    Neuschwanstein Castle (Germany)

I was hoping to see it in August.

I'm really torn here but I think I'll swing for the Atomium. I didnt vote for it earlier but I feel it might be a bit more interesting than the (beautiful) castle

    Mdina Old City (Malta)

Amazing city and wouldn't hesitate to visit again.

    Heaven's Gate (China)

Enough Old Cities through already :pac:

    Heaven's Gate (China)

    Against a city, this wins

    Heaven's Gate
It looks incredible, not sure I'd be able to walk the whole way up but I'd give it a bloody good shot

I love an old town, and Mdina is a great example, but that stairway is something else. Easy choice here in the end for the Chinese option

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,511 ✭✭✭Purgative

    Mdina

  • Registered Users Posts: 29,372 ✭✭✭✭HeidiHeidi

    Mmmmm...... hard one this!

Think I'll plump for Mdina, as I was there and loved it (and the Heaven's Gate isn't half as impressive if you zoom out that shot!)

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,647 ✭✭✭SineadSpears

    Heaven's Gate.
I'm just after realising that that's a hole in the mountain. I thought it was a big white chalk thing carved into the rock lol

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,594 ✭✭✭Mehaffey1

    Heavens Gate for me.

Was in Mdina as a 16 year old with the worst hangover of my young life that far so only bad personal memories.

Heaven's gate just offers something a bit different here. Dubrovnik already has the Old Town part of the market sewn up.

Damn, I really like both of these...

    Bratislava UFO Observation Deck (Slovakia)

Just seems more landmarky, though tbh I don't mind either going through.

  • Registered Users Posts: 8,952 ✭✭✭duffman13

I'm sure that Hill of crosses is probably underwhelming in real life but it looks amazing so I'm going with that

    Hill of Crosses (Lithuania)

Just so freaky and weird, love it!

  • Registered Users Posts: 29,372 ✭✭✭✭HeidiHeidi

Ahhh, the UFO definitely has to get the vote in this one!

Imaginative, quirky, looks lovely, and a great view from the top (presumably!).

    What's not to like??

Hill of Crosses a bit weird/ scary/ depressing in comparison.

Hill of Crosses - I'm still disappointed that the UFO deck is just a restaurant. & the crosses still has the same wacky appeal as my last vote for it
