    Easter Island Maoi (Chile)

    Much more of a landmark.
Tallinn is lovely, but it's a lovely town.

Tallinn Old Town - I'm a city girl & if there's a choice between a town or giant heads on a mountain, I'll go for the town. I'd be starving with all that fresh air wondering why I didn't just sit in a nice little coffee shop in the village

    Easter Island.

Ive been to Tallinn during the winter and its nice with all the snow but not a million miles better than any other European old town Ive been to.

Also the story of Rapa Nui is amazing as they thought they were alone in the world until they met Europeans with disastrous consequences

    Two mental buildings. Really unique.

I think the swimming pool on top of the three buildings swings it for me. Marina Sands Bay

Sydney Opera House - just screams Australia

whereas the other is just a posh office block / hotel / observation platform that could be anywhere - like every major city has one.

Ooooh, Sydney Opera House shades it for me.

Both incredible buildings, but the opera house just more iconic and recognisable.

Toughest of the tournament so far for me. Both are awesome, I love buildings. Opera house is probably more landmarky and I would have went for it in most match ups, but I just love that marina bay, it gets my vote, just.

    Sydney Opera House (Australia)

Immediately think of Australia when you see this building

  • Registered Users Posts: 26,347 ✭✭✭✭breezy1985

Never got the love for the opera house and the other one is just pure crazy architect throwing shapes on a page while on acid. Also looks like he built it with global warming in mind with a giant life boat on top for the residents when the oceans rise so its Marina Bay for me

Im going to go for the Marina Bay Sands (Singapore). its a mad looking thing. id love to see it IRL.

Marina Bay Sands - for the incredible rooftop pool.

    Sydney Opera House (Australia)

The more classier looking of the two

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,647 ✭✭✭SineadSpears

    I don't like either of them :)

  • Registered Users Posts: 32,956 ✭✭✭✭Omackeral

Looking at those Towers is inducing a bout of vertigo :D

Yeah, feckit - the statue. Petronas Towers is just an office block - but what a landmark office block! The status commemorates a murderous bastard and Mongolia is a poor country that could have used the money better. But it's visible for absolute miles, and there's a great museum in the base and in the reception is the world's biggest boot. It all adds up to a narrow win.
