First thing to note is that only the Faroe Islands got voted for here, nothing from Denmark proper. Secondly, it's our first deadlock of the competition... Tiebreaker time!

Ah feck, I think that's one of the first I didn't give a proper reason for!

    Klaksvik (Faroe Islands)

Ok so let's dissect the leading entries and score them.

    Woah, they are impressive.

Might be the photo, but I think I'll vote for

    Klaksvik (Faroe Islands)

    Just think it's incredible looking

    1-0 Klaksvik

    Just wow!
Faroe islands, I had no idea.....

My vote goes to Klaksvik, because it has natural beauty alongside the man made world

    2-0 Klaksvik

Never heard of any of these, but going solely on the photos provided, Leitisvatn gets my vote..... looks incredible! Mind you, so do most of them....

We very nearly sailed to the Faroes a few years ago - and I'm regretting even more now that we never got it together.

    2-1 Klaksvik
Klaksvik- because I like how busy the village is amongst the mountains. Nice combination of nature & convenience there ha

    3-1 Klaksvik

    No reason. No point awarded.

    3-1 Klaksvik

I like how it is adjacent to the sea but at a higher level.

    3-2 Klaksvik

Leitisvatn (Faroe Islands) beautiful and unusual with that lake so close to the sea.

    3-3

    Leitisvatn for me.

Dont know any of these but this one stood out most. Like an elevated lake looks amazing.

    4-3 Leitsvatn

Leitsvatn advances and will represent Denmark

I think it has to be the pyramids here, doesn't it?

    Absolutely iconic.

Gonna have to go for the big momma here

    Pyramids of Giza

Something on my bucket list to go and see.

The pyramids, for their icon-ness as well as the engineering feat

  • Registered Users Posts: 29,374 ✭✭✭✭HeidiHeidi

Sphinx for me..... they all look amazing, but that's just extra amazing.

    Pyramids of Giza

First thing you would think of if someone mentioned Ancient Egypt

  • Registered Users Posts: 13,366 ✭✭✭✭Kolido

As landmarks go, the pyramids and Egypt go hand in hand, though I do like that sphinx.

Voting for the pyramids, they deserve a shot for Egypt

Collosi of Memnon - I'm going with this one because of the foliage & if I got lost, I might have a small chance of survival over the other two places!

(Kinda expected a bit more from Egypt if I'm honest)

Yep Pyramids, iconic though the Colossi intrigues me.

Probably Abu Simbel deserved a nomination - especially given the whole thing was moved 200 yards back from the Nile to avoid being flooded by the Aswan Dam.

I'll go for the pyramids - they're marginally further away from the Pizza Hut than the Sphinx is

I'm torn between the Louvre and it's unique design and Millau Viaduct for sheer epicness.

Epicness wins - some construction in that, voting Millau Viaduct

    Arc de Triumphe

Some amazing choices there for the French pick

  • Registered Users Posts: 10,969 ✭✭✭✭alchemist33

Toughie. I'll go for the Louvre. You wouldn't think a glass pyramid would work with all that history, but it does

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 7,245 Mod ✭✭✭✭cdeb

I'll go for Versailles. So many rooms of varied splendour.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,648 ✭✭✭SineadSpears

Its a toss between the better known Louvre, & Milau Viaduct for me.

I think I'm gonna choose the bridge.
I wouldn't want to go over it in a million years, but it looks like a really cool piece of engineering & I appreciate that so it gets my vote here

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,511 ✭✭✭Purgative

Arc de Triumphe The detail carved into the stone looks even better irl.

The viaduct.... it's like 7 x Mary McAleese bridges, and look how well that did all on its own! :D

    Plus, it looks amazing!

I'm fairness, I could easily vote for any of them.
