Great substitutions at the right time

First step is to take the armband off him and give it to Bruno. He needs to concentrate on his own game.

The whole back four needs a lot of coaching as unit. They don't move back and over as one, someone's always out of position and that pulls everyone else out too.

They need a specialist defensive coach and serious drilling imo.

    100%

****ing hell Maguire. That's not how a professional should be clearing the ball.

I'd say Van de been works better in Liverpool's team. A possession heavy, moving the ball quickly in triangles and lots of width.

He's not made for the counter attacking I'd say.

Maguire is bad for my heart. Constantly looks spooked when under pressure.

I think Pogba on the wing is a mistake.

That's a red all day long. How do they get away with it

Ball given away by Cavani but Maguire's poor touches and body position allows teams to press. In terms of playing out from the back, he's not even near an average Premier League CB.

He's not in the top 10 in PL but especially poor today. He's too cumbersome

Studs up into a standing ankle. That'd be red in many games

but also a yellow in many games. shaws the last day was worse

The Mane incident reminds me of Shaw recently.

Yellow for me on both occasions.

    Clearly an awful tackle

We don’t really have anyone else to play there and he may be more effective than in the deep lying 2

Mane’s is just as bad. Both are reds and rubbish decisions.

How did VAR not pull that tackle up?

Said it last week but what is the fcking obsession with playing out from the back?
Maguire is an accident waiting to happen (yes i know the ball was given away by cavani)

I think its purely to invite teams onto them so it creates space for the speed players to run at.

Its Uniteds MO, they rarely can carve a congested team open with passes, so they are trying to open up the pitch.

Was wondering what kind of consistency we'd have here re Manes challenge after all the talk of Shaw definitely not deserving a red v Burnley.
Unsurprisingly we've got plenty calling for the red despite pleading for poor Luke.
Our fans are as bad as any for bias.

I agree he shouldn't be captain ( never should have been) but I wouldn't be in favour of giving it to another player who's not long at the club ( even if he is our best player). I'd rather bruno be let concentrate on his own game too. Give it to de gea for the time being..

Leave Mason on or bring on Martial or James.

Cavani is spent, would like to see Martial on.

Well there was one obvious difference in that Shaw actually got to the ball and got a touch on it first.

We are all over the place here. McTominay’s passing is killing us. He’s taking too much out of the ball.

Aggression has gone from our game last 20 mins. Too passive.

The amount of ball that Utd lose from their own throw -ins seems ridiculous.

So you've come on to the Utd thread to call Utd fans hypocrites.

mane's was more of a graze. shaws was flush to the leg if my memory is correct.

Would keep him on to take a pen

Mane wasn't high though, at least where he tackles, it was on the low ankle. Shaws was middle of the shin. Theres a fairly big distinction.

Mane started higher and was able to lower his foot too. A yellow was fair

    Another foul by Fabinho

Mane got more on the ball than Shaw did v Burnley. Take off the tinted specs and be objective ffs

Yesss Bruno!!!!! Richly deserved for all Pool's fouling

In Cavan there was a great fire / Judge McCarthy was sent to inquire / It would be a shame / If the nuns were to blame / So it had to be caused by a wire.
