Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Bruno Fernandes is like a solitary beautiful flower growing tall amongst the weeds in the marsh that is Manchester United.

He is so far ahead of every other player at the club it's not even funny. The man is carrying this team.

    Harsh free against AWB there.

Cavani is making a stake for a starting role just on his movement alone.

maguire in the wall...is that not odd?

Ah, here. We have plenty of talent in the squad.

Shows how assist stats can be pointles
First one is a bad corner headed out to Bruno and second he crosses into the keepers hands

Will he actually get credited with assists?

He won't 'officially' get those 2 assists.

On the flip side, you could say his under lying stats because of the 2 non assists show the value he's bringing to the side from an attacking point of view. He's a serious threat whether he's getting the stats or not.

    This front three is brilliant.

    Who cares?

He is delivering balls for our forwards to attack which has resulted in 2 goals. His crosses are creating the scoring opportunities.

I was a bit harsh with that analogy tbf :p

    Cavani chasing everything down.

This is a solid team performance aswell, no passengers. This is a team you can get behind.

Peno and Rashford takes it and scores

    Lovely ball over the top

Ah Bruno, unbelievable team player. I don’t mind that, he knows rash needs a boost

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,303 ✭✭✭✭Father Hernandez

    3-0 lovely.

Bruno obviously told Rashford was taking it prior to the game.

On for the hat trick and no fuss or anything kicked off about it. Love to see it. Love Bruno.

    Great half.

Even as a utd fan I have to laugh at the amount of penalty decisions going our way. :D

How did this crowd beat us?

  • Bruno is a leader too

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,114 ✭✭✭El Gato De Negocios

Just give Bruno the fcuking armband, ultimate team player.

Is there any law that a player has to keep moving in the run-up to a penalty? Rashers came close to stopping dead there...

  • Registered Users Posts: 7,054 ✭✭✭wanderer100

Job done in 35 mins !! Love to see it

Smart from Rashford to get his body across the defender and win the peno. Cool finish as well.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 685 ✭✭✭luketitz

I don't recall ever seeing a player as selfless as Bruno giving the ball to teammates for penos to help with their motivation at the expense of his own goal tallies/scoring bonus etc, some man, real leadership at play.

That's the sickener, we should now be home and hosed and in a position to rest the main players in the last two games but cant for at least one.

Honestly I think the team were too cocky last time and just assumed they would win. That and crap defending.

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 18,419 Mod ✭✭✭✭DM_7

Seemed like a soft pen decision but smart play all round with ball over and Rashford in behind. Such a high line from the defence is very risky though.

Waited all this time to see Telles, VDB and Cavani start. Makes such a difference.

First goal is always crucial for us.
We score first, game opens up and it suits our gameplan

Other way round, the opposition can sit in and we really struggle to create openings

I can’t even play a CL game on fifa without feeling sick, since the loss away to this crowd. I suppose one consolation is that from here we only need one draw to qualify regardless of what happens in other game tonight

Arguably this is our strongest 11.

Donny back making slide tackles, love the cut of his jib. Its very fcuking obvious who the leaders in the team are, you'd hope OGS can see it too.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,293 ✭✭✭All_in_Flynn

Super ball by Lindelof. It's something we should be trying much more. Liverpool best team around at those passes.

I'm against the chopping and changing of peno takers. It creates uncertainty I feel. Bruno should be taking every peno whilst on the pitch.

Cavani deserves a goal for his work rate alone. Occupying both centre halves.

Not sure on VDB yet. He is really good at one and two touch passes but I'm really not sure he can play the role he is in tonight. Wait and see I suppose.

For once I don't want the half time whistle to go. Great stuff.

I'd worry about our lack of physicality against powerful combative midfields.

That being said, it's nice to see Utd playing with this type of aggression and work rate.

Question marks still linger over our back 4 though.

Best 45 we've had in a while, particularly at home.

    Glazers Out!

    McTominay in for VDB

I would swap arguably for obviously.

    3 proper players.

I seen him go in for a committed tackle there a couple of minutes after Martial showed his cowardice yet again. So he's on the right track. I also didn't see him give the ball away 5 times so that's good.

Definitely an option when more athleticism and physicality are required.

He's still a little bit naive with his positional sense, but hopefully that will improve.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,306 ✭✭✭✭Drumpot

Just realised if the other game is a draw we only need to draw against PSG next week to top the group. Or if we draw against RBL and lose 1-0 to PSG

McT should be nowhere near the team if VDB isn't injured. Different class.

I'd like teams to be worrying about our midfield for a change tbh.

If they're good enough, they don't have to be huge.

There would be games that we should be a bit more defensive but they should be in the minority.

  • VBD having a great game also

No way back for Pogba in this team IMO

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 765 ✭✭✭Dozyart

Luckhurst saying Tuanzebe coming on,also said it looked like Martial amd Cavani were angling to take the peno 😂

    Agree to a certain extent.

If we play with enough aggression, tenacity and work rate then less physical presence is required.
