Cavani will be a regular after this. Has looked sharp since joining

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,172 ✭✭✭wadacrack

Wan Bissaka's form is a worry this season. Telles has been v good since he joined

Too many players taking the easy option in midfield and defence with the ball.

This is what happens when the club is run constantly to “build” with young players.

I keep saying it over and over again, you can’t have inconsistent players like rash, martial and Greenwood as your main forward line and be surprised when our results are mish mash all over the place. Not one of them players have proven themselves consistent under any manager. You can afford one of them in a functioning forward line but not 3 at the same time.

Players like Cavani show the kind of experience we have lacked over the years when you have to play these lads and have no real alternative we end up with what we get.

Could have done with Greenwood still being on now.
Attacking options still on bench aren't great.

    What a finish!

    Get in....

I was just thinking they have been playing well. Deserve this ... not sure anybody else on the team would be as quick as Cavani to pounce on that..

    Cavani the game changer !!!!

    Let’s win this now :D

    Martial doesn't score that.

    Great comeback so far.

    Cavani. :)

Brilliant reaction speed to get his head to that ball.

Deliberate cynical trip on Fred...no yellow.

    Ridiculous.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,306 ✭✭✭✭Drumpot

Another Southampton foul on Fred. F**k them and f**¥ the ref for letting them away all game

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,758 ✭✭✭✭beakerjoe

Id take 2 all against a tough, hard working Southampton team after being 2 down.

Not an ideal result but a realistically good result.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,476 ✭✭✭Acosta

With so many inconsistent forwards at the club, Cavani should be starting once he's fit. He's world class, the others are not.

    **** that!

Mata for Fred or Matic should have been done already.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,306 ✭✭✭✭Drumpot

This has actually been a solid enough performance but for maybe half an hour after the first goal.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,306 ✭✭✭✭Drumpot

Cavani Snapping to win the ball back. He’s really showing us what we have been missing for years. A top quality centre forward who works hard for the team.

He plays like a CF too. We’re sorely missing that.

His decision making can be so poor at times.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,281 ✭✭✭limnam

I really noticed it this game, is that quite common? Not something I've picked on much

But he either has to shoot there or lay it to Cavani first touch

  • Registered Users Posts: 7,054 ✭✭✭wanderer100

Rashford playing like Dan James today

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,670 ✭✭✭Whatsisname

The amount of chances we've thrown away today is infuriating.

Wonder if anyone will put in a January bid for Matic...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,306 ✭✭✭✭Drumpot

Nice soft free for Southampton, ref has been very poor with United on the wrong end of most decisions.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 765 ✭✭✭Dozyart

I think he buries that if he hadnt have ballsed up by not squaring to Cavani earlier, messed his decision making up

  • Registered Users Posts: 8,502 ✭✭✭Your Airbag

Rashford trying to do too much today, its cost us one goal at least. Greenwood and Bruno should have also had one each in the first half. Not taking our chances will be the culprit here if we don't get three points.

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,946 ✭✭✭KH25

IMO, yes. He has games where he is fantastic, but more often than not he has a tendency to make the wrong pass, hit it right at the keeper, that kind of thing. He doesn’t have that killer instinct you need as a striker.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,306 ✭✭✭✭Drumpot

United finish very strong. Credit where it’s due. A draw is disappointing, moreso s Because we had a great chance to make up some ground. But given we were 2 down and Southampton have started well this season it actually is a good result even if it doesn’t feel like it.
