Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    why?

It's a waste of resources and plays on the insecurity of people who sometimes have deeper issues.

good points, but i wouldnt go as far as banning it, sometimes it can help to resolve some of the psychological issues

Maybe not but it shouldn;t be so readily available for non essential issues

What do you consider essential? If you're legit ugly (for example you have a receeding chin) it is your only hope.

Ugliness isn't a health issue. That's what I mean about people with deeper issues. Where do you draw the line with ugliness. Some people who are actually quite good looking will keep going back for surgery.

If some has a legitimate health issue or has suffered injuries/scarring then I don't see an issue with surgery

Or he could just accept the fact that he doesn't like the way his chin looks and get over himself.

Everyone has flaws. Where do you stop?

Most independents are only standing on local issues and as such should be a council issue.

Ban Irish people who have never set foot in the US trying to sound American by using any of the following words in conversations:

    MOM
    Mall
    Soda
    Sneakers
    Sweater
    Drug store
    Triggered
    Faucet
    Bangs
    Sidewalk

Please stop. Just be yourself. Its ok I promise.

What about saying the word "OK" which is surely American? And Mom isn't just American.

The real American term we should abandon is White privilege, as well as the other nonsense from the right like libtard, I'd be happy if American politics disappeared off boards, except for their external wars etc.

    And on that subject....

    Inconsiderate & loud neighbours.

There should be some mechanism where if there's evidence of their behaviour & everyone around them wants them gone that they can just be evicted.

The strange thing about this is that the people you describe probably neither know nor care what it means.

probably best to avoid using it but ye know

I disagree. Unless you're assuming anyone with an intellectual ability has a zero IQ, then of course there will be some who know what it means.

I'm not being sanctimonious about it. I was guilty of using such terminology too, until a Facebook post from someone I know who has a downs syndrome child in the family made me stop and think. It just never clicked with me.

    Anyway, it's just an opinion.

There own teeth are filed down to stumps + then veneers or whatever stuck on.

Katie Price is a good example. The pictures of her getting her ' new' veneers are horrific.

And then he ropes because every girl rejects him.

Again, if that's his reaction to getting rejected by women perhaps surgery isn't the most practical course of action.

I think it is fair to say that women are more image conscious than men in general terms. I bet there are women out there with model looks who are unhappy with the way they look. Often times it is an issue that isn't really that noticeable. I maintain that surgery isn't the solution with people like this. This is a problem that stems from within and it is an issue that doesn't stop with and isn't solved by plastic surgery.

It's strange how people get triggered by plastic surgery. If you have fcuked up teeth no one would object to you getting dental work. But if you look like a mouth breather and want surgery to fix your jaw, people get weird about it.

    Interesting.

Having bad teeth is a medical issue that needs to be addressed. This isn't an issue or at least it shouldn't be.

Getting dental work done purely for cosmetic purposes is another issue entirely and shouldn't be prioritised for more important health issues.

Therein lies the difference in my views. This logic extends to the rest of your body.

As I've mentioned, if your are considering plastic surgery then doing it for reasons of vanity is foolish and unnecessary and is futile without addressing any underlying psychological or personality issues that might exist.

I'd love to get Veneers. I'm so paranoid about my teeth. There is nothing wrong with them and they are all straight and all there for now but one day i'll get veneers.

If my teeth fell out overnight i'd lock myself in a room.

Advertising would be way more effective if they just said what they really mean.

    For example.

We're backing brave. Because the chances of a start up business succeeding are actually less than 50/50 and probably much worse.

If you fail, we'll gain ownership of some of the assets that you put down as collateral.

If you succeed we'll ride you ragged for interest.
