Start new premium with current car insurance provider

    My car insurance is due for renewal. The price my current provider is quoting me is a fair bit higher than if I do an online quote with them.

    Can I take out the policy under the new online quote or do I need to ring them and try and get them to reduce the renewal quote to match the one I got through the online form?

    There will be a question online to state your current insurer. If you answer correctly, there is no reason why you cannot take the quote. Ensure it is like for like cover such as protected NCB, policy excess, breakdown cover, excess etc.
