Looking like a good night for Biden.

It's still early days but it's starting to look good alright. Popular vote win is going to be pretty huge.

Because they know what socialism brings perhaps

They are not a monolithic group. It's too late to go into the nuances of it but suffice to say the reasons are varied and numerous.

The most recent immigrants into countries are sometimes the most anti-immigrant.

But they should also know that Biden is about as socialist as David Cameron

I agree popular vote win will be huge but EC will close I think. NC seems to be going to Trump. A lot to go there but the rest of the votes should be pro trump. Georgia and Florida are going to trump.

A good result in Texas will help the popular vote but not the EC votes.

The sheer insanity of thinking Joe Biden will bring socialism...

I’m the same. Even made it to bed and can’t put the phone down. Afraid I’ll wake up to another four years of trump

Of course. I suppose it isn't right to generalise a whole demographic.

Francie, will you look at the numbers rather than making rash points.

Ohio is likely to be flipped. GA less likely. TX will be close but will ultiately fall to Trump.

I'm guessing there's a misconception about how votes are being counted (e.g. missing that rural, deeper red counties tend to come in a little later). It's why the NYT and CNN coverage (and any others doing similar) are so much more useful than the jibber jabbering nonsense on many other broadcasts. Just letting you know the numbers, where they are from, and where the ones remaining are likely to break... plus the guy on CNN is just great.

Because it's just common sense. Some states are "called" the second the polls close. It's unofficial and different outlets do it at different points.

It seems really early to call it at 8%, I hadn't realised they jumped to declare so quickly.

If Biden takes Ohio and NC you know the result.

In which case Ireland is already socialist, and frankly things seem far better here than in the US.

NC is getting into squeaky bum territory, Biden doing well in Pennsylvania so far, early days of course.

If Biden failed to flip Florida, he is almost certainly not going to flip states like Ohio, Georgia, or Texas.

Biden is looking like he's not going to lose anything, Michigan, Wisconsin and Pennsylvania look like they will be key.

Where are you getting this nonsense from? Biden is way ahead in Ohio. 10 point lead with 50% of the count done.

The former White House doctor has won a house seat in Texas. The Qanon supporter in Georgia has won a house seat. So QAnon is in the United States Congress.

Postal votes and early voters though.

It's not clean cut there though, he was only a couple of hundred thousand votes ahead with half the votes to be counted.

It would be a shock wouldn't it and a welcome one!

NC is getting into squeaky bum territory, Biden doing well in Pennsylvania so far, early days of course.

Most of the early votes counted in NC were mail in and early which would be heavily Democratic. It'll tighten up as today's votes get counted which would be mostly Republicans.
