If the Bernie/AOC wing of the Democrats are socialist, then yes Ireland is already socialist.

Everyone is having a love in for John King and CNN tonight.

Never knew he was married to Dana Bash.

    ---

I have watched a lot of US elections over the years and CNN coverage this year is by far and away the best I've ever seen.

Hardly any time for talking heads on CNN coverage. Just doing the numbers for the most part, just what you want.

What's going on in Virginia? Biden well behind with 1/3 of the vote in.

    Ireland is drifting to socialism?

And you're basing that on what exactly?

    Health service? Transport? Housing?

Very little results in the DC suburbs to date.

Apart from Texas so far Trump is very solid in the normal red states, no sign of a collapse.

Oh it will happen alright. I don't see how it can't to be honest. There's a momentum growing that is heavily promoted especially in the media. It isn't being critically evaluated it seems like its being pushed as the only way.

Only 15% of the vote in for the biggest county, the big democratic vote will come in late there by the looks of it which is obviously the opposite to what we usually see.

There was a lot of talk about a 'red mirage' but I'm worried we might be witnessing a blue one as it stands.

I keep remembering what year we're in. I have a bad feeling about this.
That model is based on a similar swing everywhere. It looks like it's one county in Florida that isn't replicated anywhere else that's costing Biden that one state.

The state wasn't but he needs to match the polls across the north.

Very low counting completed in the urban areas near Washington DC so far.

Again, if you consider Bernie/AOC as socialist then socialism isn't "coming to Ireland" - it's here and has been for decades.

Can someone explain how some states with only some votes noted as counted are declaring one way or the other?

    Is it essentially precedent based?

For example, Arkansas has declared for Trump with only 14% of votes counted. Massachusetts declaring for Biden with 3% counted.

Mostly cos there's no point in waiting.

Why wait for NY or NJ to have a count when you know it's going to the Dems.

Same for MO and MS for the reps

Yeah they're not declared. They're called by the media. They're a lot more circumspect about calling this year due to early votes etc. but you can call some states before the votes have even been opened.

I'm talking about their brand of socialism, which is different from what we have.

If you have access to data you can look at where the votes are from. So even if Trump is ahead if he's behind where he needs to be to match a prediction of losing then he's definitely lost. So in some cases rural votes are declared first which gives an early lead to the Republicans.

Same thing happened for AK earlier. Biden was ahead but it was called for Trump.

Was going to watch an hour of this two hours ago!
Fascinating, Ohio and NC looked promising for Biden but comparing the incremental change as the percent reported increases, Trump is taking 2/3 of each increment currently- based on that he will comfortably take those states. Will be interesting to see if that pans out!

Where are you getting this nonsense from? Biden is way ahead in Ohio. 10 point lead with 50% of the count done.
The early counts are favouring Biden and CNN aren't doing a good job at explaining that.

This is not looking good at all for Biden. The warning shot was fired in Florida. Clinton lost it by 100k votes in 2016, Biden has lost it by 325k and counting. The read across from it for neighbouring states like Texas and Georgia is not good at all. Ohio looks a little better for Biden, but he has a huge gap to climb there.

Ohio really tightening now. I'm afraid that it's beginning to look a lot like 2016. He is looking good in some of the battlegrounds now.
