And they are pretty much all in Los Vegas, safe enough for Biden.

Its rare I listen to Rick Santorum and think he has a valid point but his comments on Vegas being so reliant on tourism and that's why the turnout for trump does hold some weight in my mind. That the fear of Biden and a lockdown and trump wanting to open the economy and encourage people to travel etc is whats keeping him competitive there.

If Biden squeaks in with just 270 electoral votes I can't see Trump ever conceding in any circumstance.

Bidens getting 307 minimum and that's giving Pennsylvania to Trump

GOP Arizona rep Paul Gosar has put out a call to Trump supporters to rally in front of Maricopa County election center

Isn't he the one who's entire family ran an ad in 2018 telling people not to vote for him?

    The campaign did this.

This isn’t the media. This is a authoritarian who doesn’t want to release power and wants to undermine an election

US TV isn't amplifying it though as much as they normally do when Trump plays them. I'm saying they are doing a good thing, so far anyway.

Trump as usual really shot himself in the foot by telegraphing he was going to take this route of claiming victory and trying to throw out votes through the courts. It helped the media prepare for it and discuss internally on what they'd do when Trump tried it.

Sadly your right and a Republican party that is all in with this. This is not just about the current president the Republican party has shown it will stoop to any level to maintain power and is at best a quasi democratic political party.

Are the Republican Party heirarchy going to do anything to reign him in I wonder? They must realise that if they continue to hitch themselves to his antics, they risk damaging their party's standing in the future. Trump is not GOP establishment, and if he does lose will disappear off to chat shows and conspiracy theory sites, or celebrity endorsements afterwards. The GOP will have to pick up pieces from whatever damage he does.

I have a bit of a feeling , now that the Senate races are done , that they will sit down and think that controlling the Senate and having tilted the Supreme court for a generation that that might be enough for them for now.

They'll allow him to have his hissy fit today but the counts will continue and the results will stand.

That doesn't diminish the damage he's doing to their democratic structures and their Global standing.

The whole world is watching and cringing at his behaviour.

I think the challenge will be stopping him.

He's going to keep ranting here until he gets shut down by the courts (hopefully)

Exactly - There are 6 States still undeclared.

Biden needs 22 Votes , Trump needs 56

    Alaska - 6 Votes - Definite Trump

Then you have the 5 that are in play to varying degrees

Nevada - 6 Votes - Currently looking likely for Biden
Michigan - 16 Votes - Currently looking likely for Biden
North Carolina - 15 Votes - Currently looking likely for Trump
Georgia - 16 Votes - Trump currently leading , but Biden closing rapidly
Pennsylvania - 20 Votes - Trump currently leading , but Biden closing rapidly

Biden can win with any combination of two of the five above , Trump needs at least three , unless one of them is Nevada then he needs four out of the five.

Nevada and North Carolina would only be 269 for Biden

I'm actually impressed with the US networks, CNN, FOX, ABC etc are playing it cool, reporting the facts and not hyping up anyone to 1000% as they usually do. Its....refreshing!

They have an interesting dilemma. In 2018 the GOP were hit by a sizeable blue wave but now in 2020 they made back up some of that ground in part thanks to Trump being on the ballot.

Mitch was talking earlier about his concerns to have lost the suburbs but do they see them able to win them back by dumping Trump and risk alienating Trump's base?

Biden - 61,000 ahead in Michigan, and more than 1% in the lead, so no automatic recourse to a recount if it finishes like that

I reckon it will depend on what Biden says in a few minutes. Trump might call a snap presser because he always needs to reply.

When will we know for sure who won? Trump talking about a recount etc...

Of course they won't, and based off this election why would they?
Everything Trump has done, the 1 million things that would sink any other politician and yet still near half the country voted for him? It's quite frankly unbelievable. A man who allowed soldiers of his country, his army to be killed, the nepotism, the caging of children, his handling of covid, the blatant corruption and disregard of the democratic process, his throttling of the USPS and fanning of racial flames and yet he'll still get near 50% of the vote..
It's the pure apathy of the American voter that doesn't offer any incentive for the Republicans to change. They'll simply run another, more palatable candidate next time round, if not Trump again, becasue let's be honest, who's going to beat him for the Republican nominee?
America's only hope is that he is locked up by then, or at least in court answering his many very serious crimes. But the current Republican party will go on.

What a statesman speech by Biden

Really nice to hear someone that coherent

Sensible words from Biden. Such a contrast to the tantrum tweets of Trump. Future generations will marvel how America could have been so polarised over the choices on offer.

    CNN projects Michigan for Biden.

    Biden speaking now..

Biden says he's not going to declare victor but believes he'll be the winner at the end.

His speech was more victorious in tone.

    He did well though.

No doubt Trump will give a dignified concession speech later tonight.:D

CNN have called Michigan for Biden.

Biden sounding very Presidential in his speech there, talking all about healing and working together while clearly stating he's not naive to think this will be easy - but has stepped up as a composed, ready leader. The contrast with Trump's theatrics is stark
