Has anyone been watching/listening to Harris? What is she like? Would she make a good President if needed to stand in?

I only watched her briefly in the 60 Minutes interview and she didn't come across well in the small bit I saw. (grinning and laughing obnoxiously).

I particularly don't like the intellectual move towards fact-checking and arbitrating truth online.

You'd rather lies, misinformation and propaganda to be spread about instead.

Fact checking is bad in eyes of Trump supporters. That says it all.
I think we can all agree it'll be great if Trump ownz the intel-agencies by pardoning Snowden and Assange and we get some chance of journalism surviving into the future!

    This is deluded.

I think the number of charges against both men went up during Trump's presidency.

It's amazing how Trump worshipers continue to enclose themselves in this ridiculous bubble, desperately clinging to this nonsensical idea that he is some sort of establishment iconoclast, when the truth is anything but.

Pennsylvania keeps updating small chunks of votes every few minutes.

Currently based on the estimate of 12% of votes left there are still 853,734 votes hanging out.

What about that $5,000,000 bet on a Trump victory? I’m guessing and hoping that that’s somebody for whom $5,000,000 is pocket change.

    I'd imagine it would be.
I'm off to bed, enjoy being a Viking when you get there.

A big chunk of that vote is in Atlanta. I think Biden's going to win.

I mean like will be lower corporation tax in America to where it’s more expensive to be here in Ireland than America .

US companies in Ireland are in the EU and the Single Market.

US companies in the US are outside the EU and the Single Market.

Outside the EU = tariffs on goods and regulatory barriers for goods and services = more difficult to sell (in some cases legally impossible) goods and services to the Single Market's population of close to 500 million of some of the wealthiest people in the world.

I don't think any reductions in US corporation tax (a tax on profits) would make up for the loss of sales for the vast majority of US companies based in Ireland (and thus in the EU and Single Market) and the profits on those sales.

I particularly don't like the intellectual move towards fact-checking and arbitrating truth online. I'm shocked to see people not recognise the problem with this and how it has been and will be weaponised. Online discussions generally involved people just posting some newspaper article to do their talking for them, often without understanding what is actually written - just a headline that says what they want. People seem to genuinely believe that online propaganda is a problem unique to dumb right-wing Qanon people, this even after the Russian collusion nightmare dragged on for 3 years with endless sh!te from all the reputable newspapers.

I appreciate you writing the whole thing but this is nuts. How could you be against fact checking online or anywhere for that matter? The truth should absolutely be weaponised, against anyone spreading lies and BS for any reason.

Q anon is a conspiracy theory, the mueller investigation was not. Christ almighty what a read.

Atlanta is in Georgia dude. Although it seems that it, and Savannah, may well give victory to Biden there too.

i'm wouldn't be too confident about that, could be another upset

No. Biden will take PA. The pattern of early vote is locked in.

Only Georgia is knife edge, Biden gets AZ, NV and PA. Trump probably takes NC. 310 to 228 looks like the smart money now.

I don't know how outlets like the New York Times and Reuters give Biden +11 and +12 or whatever in their final polls before election in states like Wisconsin. The congressional races were even more off. Susan Collins was predicted to lose +10 but even up winning by that margin.

I guess the question is why are the predictions ALWAYS skewed for Democrats?

Please give me an answer because I just don't get it

Republican footfall on election day is usually higher. Conversely mail-in ballots and absentee ballots are typically higher for Dems. Polls don't account for voting habits.

Do you know how many followers those so called "rogue" government twitter accounts garnered post 2016?

    Tell me how it's different.

Even those who vote for Trump are too embarrassed to admit it. End of.

GA SecState claims 149,000 ballots remain to be counted. All absentee (favored by dems).

Trump and Biden are only separated by 45,941

    Trump can still hold it.

The gap in Georgia is down to 40,000ish and the outstanding votes within Georgia are from areas that so far are predominately for Biden.

    Cop out...

Not really, it's well known. Also depends on the type of poll taken, Rasmussen for example got Florida right. Good explainer here why these polls can be inaccurate: https://www.smh.com.au/world/north-america/why-the-polls-were-wrong-and-will-never-be-right-again-20201104-p56bf4.html

Georgia would be a nice bonus for Biden, bit its window dressing.

True, Georgia is non-vital to Biden's path to 270.

Imo, many who vote Trump are not necessarily voting directly for him - they are voting against perceived socialism and the Marxist anti American ideology spewing out from colleges forming generational patterns. The Cuban increase for Trump reflects that especially given his anti immigrant rhetoric. It's a culture war, doesn't matter who's running. Republicans imo can feel this shift and should be optimistic for future elections.

So basically Trump has to win Pennsylvania, North Carolina, Alaska, Arizona and Georgia and he's in.

I still think Arizona will go red.

    Trump doesn't think so.

AP is reporting he's taking legal action to halt vote counting in Georgia.

Yes exactly. Without a doubt downright lies.

Now what happened to this blue wave in Texas. We had multiple reports that there was a high chance of it turning blue.

    AllForIt

There was a guy interviewed on UK radio last night who was involved with the only polling in the US that called it correctly in 2016.

On the question of the Dems taking Texas, (some are saying by a landslide) that he never heard anything more ridiculous, there isn't a hope of anything like that happening. He lives in Texas.

So what happened in Texas? Almost exactly the same result as 4 years ago. Not a whiff of what was said transpired. Not a word of it. How could this be a case of simply 'getting the polls wrong'.

So all this is done by design by the virtuous unscrupulous Democrats and their msm supporters. And ppl wonder why the country is divided.
