Trying to make out Biden as being anti-police is hilarious :D.

I think all the people trying to make out Joe Biden as some kind of radical socialist is laughable. He is a center right democrat. Trump is just so far to the right, that some people actually fooled themselves into thinking Joe Biden is left wing.

People saw him courting the far left of the party, I don't think anyone claims Biden himself is a socialist, just that he is so weak that he may be bossed around by that wing of the party. However he did well to get their support and offer them nothing, that has been the best part of his campaign so far.

    Did I say that?

Biden has been happy to endorse the BLM protest violence because the people involved in it were vehemently anti Trump and anything he opposes Biden would endorse to ensure votes.
I'm sure he's appalled by the violence, but publicly stating that those involved are in the wrong would be akin to shooting himself in the foot.

when has biden endorsed violence? do you have a source?

The roles are both ways. Trump is leading in some states, Biden is leading in others.

Trump has already falsely claimed he's the victor, he is attempting to dispute the vote without basis, he has called the election rigged before it started, he has suggested mail in votes are rigged, he is trying to stop counting in states where Biden is catching, he is not trying to stop counting in states where he might catch up, he told voters to vote twice before the election, he called the last election rigged (until he won it), it never ends. It's very much one-sided.

He was still claiming it was rigged even after he'd won it. Really annoyed him that Clinton got more votes than him.

Just not able to accept that the entire world doesn't love him.

I don't have any issue with the recounts.
If it's close enough within the margin the state sets fine makes sense.

It's more the constant barrage of false claims from Trump about the election being stolen, votes being dumped, telling them to stop counting votes which is pretty much deplorable imo. I honestly don't think Biden would behave in a similar manner.

That's pretty much what I was saying.

    Glazers Out!

Have checked out since yesterday, what’s the current state of play, is Biden still on track?

He's round 1/5 with the bookies to take Pennsylvania, and that gets him over the line on its own

If 400k outstanding, based on current up to date totals from here.

    Votes left Trump Biden
    400,000.00 0.30 0.70
    Trump 3,220,597.00 120,000.00 3,340,597.00
    Biden 3,067,410.00 280,000.00 3,347,410.00

This is painfully slow since yesterday. While the trend for Biden outside of Arizona is positive he is running out of votes in Pen and still needs a decent majority to swing it his way. I know CNN are saying there’s a lot of democrat area votes left but would be nice to see more significant gains in next 400k votes which you’d hope would have Biden at least level.

The Far Left democrats would be equivalent to the Green or Labour parties in Ireland. They are not really "far" left. Its just something Trump supporters throw out in the US, as again they are so far to the right, they try to present a moderate center left politicians as far left.

Ignoring the debate of who is winning what, how the hell can the almighty US of A not get their **** together on a vote.

Vote is on Tuesday, fine. Mail in votes have to be in by Tuesday at the latest. Get all mail in votes and in person votes together in a few different locations per state and count them on Tuesday and Wednesday. Result announced Wednesday night for each state one after the other and the winner is clear at the end.

Wouldn't change the endless legal challenges that Donald is going to engage in but for an election with normal candidates it would be a lot cleaner.

All this bollocks going on with ballots coming in a few days after the election, some counties being a day late, hundreds of thousands of votes rolling in at 4am, Florida practically done and dusted on Tuesday night yet Pennsylvania won't be done til Thursday.

I'll admit as a viewer it makes for an entertaining rollercoaster, but as an administrator the feckless inefficiency of it all is appalling.

hard to argue with that. And the way the presenters from all stations go on about the election you would think America is the only country in the world with a democracy.

Regardless of whether this is legit or not, you can't blame Trumpers for being furious about this for years to come and going balls deep into conspiracy. Would be impossible not to for either side really. America's future, and by way of it much of the western world, is in for nightmarish further division.

I don't remember the Democrats doing that in the last election.

I have a bad feeling Trump may squeeze the narrowest of narrow victories in PY and GA, the mail-in votes are under serious scrutiny and a lot of them may be deemed spoilt...then it's left to Biden to stay ahead in Arizona (where lead is narrowing) and Nevada where he has a very small lead with plenty of vote left.

I think Biden will just scrape home with Arizona and then it's down to Nevada and probably another 24 - 48 hours of watching the count and possible recount there, and he will probably just edge it.

The greens and labour aren't socialists. The far left of the democrats are card-carrying socialist. This nonsense that because they only talk about healthcare means they are social democrats is pure unadulterated ignorance . AOC, Bernie and (I assume the other squad members but haven't checked) are democratic socialists.

No worries I thought the below bit was saying Biden would behave in a similar manner. I just don't think that's true, sure he would want recounts if withing allowable margin but he would be firing around lies and conspiracy theories, stopping counts or claiming to take over states.

"Trump is a buffoon and makes his every action seem OTT and childish but with the way things have been in America of late we'd be seeing the same actions taken by the Dems if the roles were reversed albeit without quite as much of the magical moron dust Trump manages to sprinkle over everything."

Bloomberg has a good article about proposals that would address the abysmal voting system in the US: https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2020-11-05/election-2020-what-other-countries-can-teach-the-u-s-about-better-elections?srnd=premium-europe

A US non-profit that rates democracies, has the US system in 57th place. Otherwise known as last.

Also true is that Trump has got more votes in this election than Obama did in 2012...
