Trump is a pathological liar, so this sentence makes absolutely no sense. These people didn't like reality so they chose someone who validates a false narrative for them, simple as.

This is why they voted for Trump.

    Biden is spot on:

We need to lower the temperature. Need to see and listen to each other

So fooking simple: and utterly lost on that tyrant despot, Trump!

He is right but do you really think the so called progressives in the democrat party will listen to that. It won't be long before they are back on the streets.

So some people want everyone to go easy on Trump now that he lost? Granted he's president and in general that position would deserve some respect.

However, Trump dragged the Whitehouse into the sewer. He showed no respect to anyone and has an endless list of failures, catastrophes and **** ups under his belt.

He has spent years desecration the very office that usually commands respect. He deserves none. He deserves to be dragged through the courts for the rest of his life.

Everything you say is true, unfortunately Trump did achieve 70 million votes representing nearly half the electorate.
I don't know what proportion of that were simply traditional republican, with no particular affinity for Trump. They may even loathe him, but voted on party lines.

However Trump still has massive support among his base, so I think the prudent approach would be to starve him of publicity.
He'll continue tweeting and holding Rallies but as a political force he is spent.
I would love to see him in court on charges but with armed clowns out supporting him the danger of a mass shooting by some nutjob is very real.

I seem to know Hunter's name for some reason and the type of laptop he uses and that he refers to his Father as "The Big Man" when doing dodgy deals...

Just watched the speech, very uplifting! Now catching up on the thread and enjoying all the salt with my morning coffee :)

That article makes sense. This same media was supporting the rioting across the USA. They have a long way to go before they become close to balanced. They are currently completely disconnected from alot of the population.

There was no mainstream media supporting rioting. That's just a pure lie.

    That literally wasn't the point

The media were like comical Ali in Iraq when the bombs were landing claiming that everything was fine. Of course they they didn't actively organise the riots. But they certainly didn't wield their power to stop them.

The only time the riots worried the media was when it started to show up in the polls negatively against democrats.

for the biden fans: what do you expect of him?

I'm expecting him to have a single digit thread(s) on Boards.ie about his presidency because he won't be saying/doing stupid sh!t and behaving like a child every single day, to the horror of the entire world.

Some theme along the lines of "positivity and unity", "slow and steady progress", "we are all in this together" etc. would be nice too

Some Trump supporters are now blaming the Libertarians for his loss, given that Jo Jorgensen's vote in many of the closely contested states exceeded Biden's winning margin.

I here people vented in 16 and that's why Donnie came to the fore, the people vented in 2020 and Joe Biden came to the fore.

Certainly, it would. But unity cuts both ways. It implicitly calls on Trump supporters to stop characterizing their opponents as fake-news promoting, election-stealing libtards. But it also means that Biden's own supporters need to stop characterizing 70+ million of their fellow citizens as ignorant gun-totin' redneck racists. Unity requires both sides to drop the hostility.

I raised that issue a while back - someone said most ust if them the Libertarians works have been non-voters. Not sure if that's the case, but certainly plausable.

Everything I don't like is either woke or fascist - possibly both - pick one.

That's boll!x, where have they been in the last few days, where were they in the last few months? Easy to do it now. Also never forget the 'Bushes' are responsible for the slaughter and displacement of millions of innocent people.

Also, the courting of the low IQ evangelical right began under the George W Bush.

Don't forget the fondness of George Bush senior for dog whistle racism. https://www.nytimes.com/2018/12/03/us/politics/bush-willie-horton.html

Not to mention the voter suppression policies used to ensure W won in Florida against Gore.

All of the Republican party are responsible. They use and have used hot button issues like race, abortion, fear of socialism to ensure a winning margin. To ensure they and their cronies are in power to enrich themselves at a cost to American society and American taxpayers. They created and lived by the immoral playbook, Trump just had no qualms about hiding what he was doing.

So how many states are going to recount?

I've seen PA are now separating mail in ballots received after 8pm election day,

Could we see another 2000 moment after Al gore thought he won for like 36days after the election only to be overturned and then president Bush won?

Imagine all them leftist faces if that was to happen.

Not sure what you mean here, exactly, but Jo Jorgensen (Libertarian Party) got over 1.7 million votes, or 1.2 percent of the popular vote. In many of the tightly contested swing states, that bloc of votes could have made a crucial difference.

Of course, critics assume that Libertarians would have voted for Trump if Jorgensen hadn't been running. I don't think that's the case. Libertarians strongly opposed many of Trump's policies (tariffs, trade wars, border walls, etc.) and so it's likely that many would have supported Biden in the absence of a better option.

Funny alright how they where all moaning about how unsafe Trump's rallys. But no criticism of 1000's of Bidens fans congragated together yesterday that gets a pass because Biden's supporters are immune to Covid.

Dude please wait until I've at least cleaned my room of ectoplasm before starting again, it's totally unfair.
