Trump was Putins puppet for the last 4yrs. Russian help got him elected in 2016 and he's been doing their bidding since. A divided US is a weak US and that has suited Putin perfectly.

Putin and his cabinet are great admirers of a chap called Aleksandr Dugin. Dugin is a fascist who believes global politics are a zero sum game - that is, for Russia to succeed everyone else must falter and that liberal democracies are inherently weak. This is why I find it so freaking frustrating when anybody suggests Dems need to reach out or understand Republicans. Republicans don't actually believe in any kind of Republic, or any kind of Democracy. It's only allowed when it puts them in charge, which they think they're entitled to.

They tried to steal the election in broad daylight, that didn't work, so now they're trying to overturn it. These aren't people you can or should trust enough to take in good faith. They're willing to break the entire country to stay in power. Seems to me then that most Dems understand them perfectly. People just don't want to believe it's gotten that bad.
