Trump is a 74 year old who is in debt to the tune of at least 400M, has countless ongoing investigations in to his practices and has just lost the election.

On Saturday, he didn't even get out of his car to greet his supporters at a MAGA fantasy parade which he drove through on his way to play golf.

His administration was noteworthy for the amount of people who came and left during it with many of them having few positive words to say about him as they walked out. He endorsed several candidates in elections over the 4 years who lost in their races.

He has zero capacity in putting in the ground work to get sufficient numbers of people to buy in to his message in a grass root level and to build a cohesive message or strong team to spread out.

Remember when all his supporters came out to deny that he had said anything about disienfectant being used to combat covid and literally as they were doing that, he pulled the rug from under them by admitting he had said it but he was being sarcastic. A new party with Trump at the helm would never be able to get a cohesive story without the weight of blind allegiance to the Republican party to help him.

Agreed - But it would be enough to cripple the GOP.

If Trump was actually capable of running in 2024 and didn't get the GOP nomination , him running independently or worse still under a new party banner running House/Senate candidates would chop off at least 15-20 points of the GOP vote.

That would lose them any chance at the WH and possibly cost them House & Senate seats.

The challenge for the GOP is working out how to handle Trump over the next 4 years.

If he remains viable - Which is far from assured - Given the court cases ahead of him he could be Bankrupt , In Jail or Confirmed as a rapist in court (the E Jean Carroll case) or a combination of all 3 , what do they do?

He could probably ride out Bankruptcy , but either of the other two *should* wipe him out.

So , in a scenario where he is a viable candidate , the GOP probably need to row in behind him as having him on the outside as a 3rd candidate would be absolute poison for them.

Now we just need sanders to do the same to the democrats and the Americans might be on their way to having an actual democracy.

I'd say anybody going to a pub when they are not supposed to be open has a drink problem.

So everybody who has ever been in a lock-in has a drink problem?

I did and it appears they are supported by the Israeli government and he went there with their blessing. It seems to me that part of this visit is to enhance relations with Israel which in turn helps them with the US media.

Not really - As long as it's FPTP the smaller parties are just spoilers and haven't a hope of getting elected.

"Philadelphia and Detroit have cheated in every election for the last 60 years"

    Wow

Giuliani sounds like he's gonna start crying

I predicted long ago that Trump would firm a new party after one term as POTUS.
If that happens and thus new party gets any standing then you'll see the Democrats split.
If there is no new party formed then the Democrats won't split.

If Trump forms a new party then the republican base is split and the democrats sail home in any 3 way battle. He won't take any blue voters and the 2 red parties will split the red votes. Why would there be a democrat split based on the Republicans splitting ? What would trigger the split in that case? I think democracy is better served by multiple parties offering a range of views for voters but don't think the US system encourages that approach to politics.

Watched a few minutes of that , just a re-hash of all the claims that they have already lost in courts in the last week or so.

It says a lot that the evidence is being presented in a press conference rather than a court of law if they were trying to get anything overturned.

Its equal parts pathetic and hilarious to watch.

Its actually the silver lining in Trump winning so many votes because now the Republican Party cant live with him but they cant live without him either. No matter what happens they are stuck with him now for the next four years constantly reminding voters why they voted him out. The Reps would much prefer that Trump suffered a heavy defeat and then they could cut him loose. But because he didnt they have to indulge him, thats not good for them as a party in the long term to be having their strings pulled by a one term president who lost the popular vote twice.

This is the Trump campaign line "We're convinced large-scale fraud happened, despite having no evidence."

You might as well have Giuliani up there making the case that Santa is real. There's no actual difference. No direct evidence. Maybe a VHS cassette from 1996 local news report of Santa setting off from the North Pole on Christmas Eve. There you go, Santa's real.

Little sympathy for them, here. All those Republicans should open up their Bibles (standard issue to every Republican, I thought) to Galatians chapter 6, verses 7-8.

    Speaking of election interference:

"Trump personally called two Republicans canvassers who now oppose certifying Detroit-area votes."

If the USA have 340 million population and have 250000 deaths and if Italy has 47000 deaths with 60 million population how could America be doing worse. The same with spain.

USA has both the largest number of deaths and the largest number of cases in total, not per population. No one has ever said they had the highest per population like you are hoping so you can think you're making a point.

That's Sidney Powell, she represented Gen Michael Flynn in 2019. I don't think that's nerves, it's the sound of a woman who's livid.

Quell suprise. Kayleigh McEnany PT 2.

Another sell out PR person. Legal motives my hole. She previously called Trump and idiot. You can be sure if it was a guy, Trump would not entertain the light of day from her.

Because Italy and Spain were taken by surprise at the start and hit hard, the US knew all about it and still let it happen
