Yep, rare earths is where it's at now,
China is the top producer at the moment because you know, no human rights and all that, a lot of cancer villages and toxic lakes popping up in China, but we need them touch screens nice and shiny, and America and Australia recently pissed China off by trying to come together and find there own rare earths,

They're not all that rare , and Australia and the us have quite large reserves , they're just dirty to extract and refine ,

same issue with gold. Many commodities are in abundance, you just need to find a way to strip human rights away to get to them.

This is why Africa is the worlds last comodities playground. China knows it and has been trading their way in. The US will just war their way in under Biden.

I think China has too many interests in various African countries for Biden to risk stepping on their toes.
That said, ISIS/Boko Haram/al Shabaab could do with a pounding.

Pretty much. I don't Biden will want to escalate conflict with China in Africa, beyond the diplomatic/economic. Actual military conflict with China could easily spiral out of control, which would be far too costly. They'll want a crackpot dictator or one of the more traditional targets. ISIS sounds most likely since it appeals to the war on terror.

I'd say he was just too incapable, corrupt and impotent to ever get to it more than anything else.

Should probably hit China now or very soon. On course to overtake the United states and become world's most powerful.

If the Us doesn't act soon they will find themselves in a position of not being able to act

They should send antifa instead of the marines

They're not going to hit china , it's too big , the "game"
Is about manouvring , spheres of influence and control over choke points ...
And from the outside it looks like china is playing a blinder while the U.S. hasn't even decided what the game is ..
China wants to control access to the resources it needs , and to have either client states or serious influence within it's sphere ...

China is nowhere close to reaching parity with the US in terms of technology, practical application of forces, or experience. Yes, they have some decent tech, but overall they're well behind the US, and their military is riddled with morale issues, and corruption. It's one of the reasons Xi pushed so hard to downsize the size of the military and create more elite forces.. but the Generals wanted a large military because they make money from it. So a large military it is, and growing larger. Larger doesn't mean it's a bigger threat...

China is impressive compared to other Asian countries, but it's 2-3 decades behind the US still. Big isn't enough considering the technologies involved... besides the fact, that China is extremely vulnerable to a range of attacks, whereas the US is sitting pretty secure. It also helps that China has managed to isolate itself, and remove all goodwill in Asia.. with the US now supplying most of their neighbors with weaponry.

Nah. The US can continue to dance around China for a while yet, especially if they can hit China's economy even more... which Trump started. That's really going to knock China back a dozen feet.

Pretty much. They want the Qing Dynasty back. Client states, tribute, 'respect', etc. They want to rule over Asia. Not going to happen now though.

An idea of the Biden team we can expect. Very worrying and littered with cheerleaders for the military industrial complex. Hopefully we still look back in 4 years feeling that Trump saying mean things was so awful.

yeah that site doesn't sound biased at all
It's been obvious for a long time that Joe Biden's cabinet would be packed with Obama holdovers, war pigs and whatever primary opponents he owes favors to,

The warhogs in the establishment (democrats /republicans) must be thrilled about this band getting back together. I'm not talking about one party here, I'm on about the US invading other countries under the guise of being the police force of the world and profiting from it.

Undeniably Trump has his flaws but a lot of people who hate him so much and voted against him rather than voting FOR Harris/Biden may look back fondly at 4 years without thousands of US troops losing their lives at the expense of millions of civilians in the Middle East or elsewhere.

That's one way of looking at it I suppose ....
You could look at the record arms sales to the Saudis and UAE, since we're looking at the mode east.
And they do seem to be getting through those bombs ..
Could look at the kurds in northern syria, Shure they're grand ..
You may end up right ...about biden/ haris but should you be righting them off now , before they're even in office ?

Biden was in office as Vice President for 8 years, along with individuals who are likely to be in his cabinet. The devastation they left in the Middle East was atrocious. Many US companies moved in. There's no profit in peace, although I hope I am wrong and the new administration takes Trump's approach against the military industrial complex.

Us military exports increased significantly under trump ..
And us military spending peaked in 2011,then dropped significantly till 2016, when they rose again ...
Just because trump said something doesn't make it so ...

None of which makes biden a dove....although he is more likely to be interventionist ...and more likely to prop up or support key allies ....

I'm not across it enough but in defense of America, is there an argument they end up looking like the bad guy to preserve a global regime which suits and benefits small countries like Ireland?

The goal is to preserve their status quo but maybe it's the best of a bad situation, a bit like the atomic bombs on Japan. Ultimately, America acting nefariously from time to time is the best possible outcome for the world as a whole. Even if it does mean schools of children being blown up from time to time.

I fully support what they did in Afghanistan. TBH if George W Bush nuked Kandahar on September 12th, I wouldn't have thought less of him. But everything after that has been a disaster and apart from the countries themselves (who I couldn't give a **** about), it has been Europe that had to pick up the **** from it. From either taking in refugees that hate us or the subsequent terror attacks that have been going on for the last 15 years.

Our freedoms have been eroded from it too. We can't speak ill of Islam now, we have lost our right to offend people, we have to go through metal detectors to visit museums, we have armed soldiers outside churches, synagogues, train stations, streets/Christmas markets are closed off to stop nutters driving through with cars or trucks, music festivals are cancelled because our new friends are a bit rapey, women cannot go out at night in certain areas because they might groped or worse, Europe has tons of unemployed because people don't want to hire them.

This is all the blow back from the folly wars after Afghanistan. And its all on Lobby Groups in America pushing for wars to flog off military equipment.

Looking like America will indeed be back in 'the game'.

Flournoy was tipped to be Clinton's defence secretary in 2016 so she must be looking forward to getting stuck in by now.
