Excellent mental strength shown by himself and Bryson, a few others could take note.
Is Dustin Johnson's time in the lead too much for him? Cracks appearing. Water at 15.

Rory back to even, much better start

That's a fantastic birdie by Rory.

Really showing some great resolve in spite the poor start.

Great mental strength there, hopefully he can keep it up.

Easy pin at 16 again, birdie needed for Rory

Great chance of a hole in one today.

Lol, not for Rory, for anyone

Rory pulled that one, better distance though. DJ big birdie chance

Rory finally getting a few putts to drop, great to see.

This. They care little about money. I'm sure the US Channels have been throwing money at them for years to extend the live coverage.

I think it was Bill Clinton who was famously refused the opportunity to play while he was US President. More than once.

    Where is Angel Cabrera?

    Where is Angel Cabrera?

Immelman relinquished his for TV coverage, Sergio COVID & Angel no reason was given.

Weird that I didn’t miss Sergio but did Angel. Big loss for nostalgia

Those white numbered boiler suits that the caddies have to wear really annoy me. They are so symbolic of the bad old days at Augusta when all members had to be white and all the caddies had to be black and had to wear their ‘uniform’ to indicate their lowly status.
I think it’s one tradition that they should ditch.

Things change slowly at Augusta! No black man had ever even played the course until 1975 (Lee Elder) and he was only allowed because he had qualified for The Masters and couldn't be prevented from playing.

They accepted their first black member in 1990.

They don't like women much either!

I’m not certain, but I think that golfers weren’t allowed to have their own caddies at the Masters at one time, they had to use one of the local, mostly men of colour, caddies.

In relation to the earlier question about membership, apparently the joining fee is a very reasonable $20-40k, and sub approx 10k per year, but they accept no applications, and to ask to join apparently means you will never be invited to do so. If you google, there is a list from 2015 of members given by a disgruntled employee/member, the list is a who-is-who of industry, there is one Irish member by the way.

His birdie putt at 16 was unlucky not to drop as well

Still quite a lot to do but a great turnaround after yday/morning.

It doesn’t look like it’s coming to him particularly easy but lots to be said for still scoring while not playing your best.

Not a fan of mcilroy but fair play to him he’s showing bottle now

I’m a big fan of mcilroy and now is the time he needs to show bottle. Needs to break par on his back 9, the front 9 on the course. Birdie the two par 5s and no mistakes and he should be in with an outside chance.

Surely they won't be able to finish this evening? Some guys not teeing off toll near 8 I believe.

It's unlikely, they've only gotten an hour more play for the second round to what they got for the first round yesterday.

No they will only play till 9.30 max so finish td 2 tomorrow morning

Rory after a good birdie smashes his drive into the trees and it bounces off them to in front of the green

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,092 ✭✭✭The Tetrarch

Koepka hit the flagstick on the 3rd and the ball came back about 30 yards downhill.

Never understood why they can't have staggered starts, with some groups teeing off on the 2nd hole, another on the 4th etc.
