Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Living room floor - tiles, slate, wood or other.

    Hello Diyers.

I am looking for some help and opinions. I am looking to replace the living room carpet. The carpet must be 20 years old and is fecked.
The living room is a hard living room - often it would see muddy boots etc.

It has old massive table on wheels and big heavy couches - I believe that may damage a wooden floor - Opinions please.

    What about black slate ?

I need something hardy and low maintenance can anyone suggest something ?

    Thanks for your help.

IMO tiles absolutely suck in living rooms. Slate too.

    I'd go laminate.

I would agree, tiles tend to be very cold in a living room.
Good quality laminate would be as easy to keep clean as tiles
