Can't give Sancho that kind of space. Hendrick had absolutely no clue where he was. Poor goal to concede.

The FAI should be more discerning about the friendlies they organise (or rather not organise). This is pointless.

I'm blaming Christie and Hendrick cause they were near by and I hate the 2 of em

That's enough of that for me. Going to watch Serbia vs Scotland instead of this.

This is what you get when a team struggling for form and who are in a transitional period play a friendly against a team ranked fourth in the world. Could we have not played the Faroe's tonight instead?

This lad is definitely playing fifa

I'd score myself if given that much room. Hendrick turned his back on it.

    Shane Duffy.

    Thoughts and Prayers.

That shocking touch that led to the corner was abysmal stuff. Dived in too after it and could have given away a penalty.

We're two nil down. All the hipster 'football' journos clamouring for Kennys appointment have got what they wanted.

Surely the end of the Kenny experiment though? The FAI could put him on the covid payment if they can't afford to sack him, and he can head back to Finn Harps or wherever

tis a fun time to be an Irish supporter :D:(

Yeah Joeys under 12s might give us a game, be more Kenny's level aswell.

2 nil down, missing a heap of players, against one of the best teams in the world.

We are not getting dominated here.

And people on here were certain that moving to Scotland was a step down for him. I've seen him twice for Celtic and now tonight. He's not even good enough for the SPL from what I've seen those 3 times.

Probably got the call/or called the English FA after New Zealand said they wouldn't play. Likely got a fee they desperately need to play it.

    Indeed.

I just don't see how an inevitable hiding at Wembley helps anyone.

Is Kenny Cunningham on drugs ? he keeps on saying we are playing well and that we are unlucky, yet the game I am watching England have spent the half camped in our half and are 2 up....

    A visually depressing spectacle

The antithesis of what this game should be

The sooner covid football is gone and forgotten about the better

The service to Idah is appalling whether he's 5 or 50 yards away the balls are no where near him.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 45,630 ✭✭✭✭Mr.Nice Guy

Cunningham is friends with those in the Irish management and so he's not going to be too critical. It's like listening to Gary Neville commentating on United matches.

Bet Grealish wishes he was going into the other dressing room ;)

The gap in individual talent between theirs and ours is massive.

“It’s half time, if England don’t improve in the second half this could get embarrassing for them”

Kenny is proud of the heart the lads are showing. Ffs

England are comfortable here and staying in 1st gear.

Ireland looking to gain some confidence knocking the ball about a bit but amounting to nothing. The slightest bit of pressure from England and we give it away, knock it long or knock it back and invite pressure on ourselves.

Idah isolated up front has the impossible task.

And they're not playing half the players they could be playing. With the talent they have they should be a sharp end of the next few tournaments but they'll likely make a balls of it.

I agree and really Kenny has had abysmal bad luck. McCarthy and Coleman out before we started and then Egan off as well. It isn't Cunninghan's comments so much but his accent grates on me.

    I think he's watching a different game.

Zero bite in this game, we're lost when we cross the half way line

We wouldn’t get a player in to their first 4 teams.

Cunningham has that Keith Andrews style of talking a lot, slowly and with authority, but actually imparting sfa of use

I thought we started the half brighter and the opening ten minutes were promising. Horgan had decent moments. Once England got into their rhythm though we've had no answer. When we're relying on Jeff Hendrick to be our creative outlet we're asking for trouble; defensively, we look very exposed. Just a question now of how motivated England are to run up the score.

    First five minutes lol

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,422 ✭✭✭ziggyman17

This is like a non league side playing against a professional clubs second team in a cup game, we have not laid a glove on England, it is like a training game to them, we are hopeless because we simply have not got any players of quality, it does not matter who the manager is, the standard of players we have has to be at its lowest since we started out,

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,570 ✭✭✭The White Feather

We never score many goals anyway so we need to create a few chances to get one. Having Idah on his own means the ball will keep coming back quickly and our defence gets tired then concedes. We have to play two up at least to cause them problems or get corners.

Until that changes we won't even score a goal. This is what this game should be about now. Getting a goal. Then at leastt have something to take away from it. The longer we take to score the worse it gets.
