I don’t think so. She started off with a rigmarole that ‘head office’ had sent ‘email and calls’ telling them that only customers that ordered them on the website could collect one.

Asked how could they be website orders if it wasn’t listed on the website. She shrugged and then said she actually now didn’t have any anyway.

So - I really don’t know what’s going on there. Any other Tesco I’ve tried hasn’t been like that. And sure Argos are really helpful to be fair to them.

I found Argos very nice about it as well when I was calling into them. They were very apologetic that they didn't have any.

That's what we were told at customer service desk in Tesco Clarehall. Only for a passing manager told us to go to the desk in the electronic section we would have left empty handed. Seems customer service don't know they are in store and available.

Just came here to post this. Happened to refresh the smyths page about 2 minutes before your message.

I already have my own that I got on launch day. But a friend is desperately searching for one for the kid from santa. So I just grabbed one for him. Didn't even wait to call him and tell him to order just in case it sold out.

4 weeks, simultaneous stock alerts on 3 sites (hotstock.io, idealo (.de & .co.uk)) and tracking the Series X, thousands of page refreshes later (including those of this post) - I actually got lucky on Smyth's home delivery.

This is weird. Just checked my bank account. There's money out to smyths. But microsoft have sent me 500 euro.


Edit: It was the person I bought it for. I couldn't tell on the phone app and they gave the payment a name that made me think it was microsoft.

So Argos there have an active reservation list? That people are signing up to?

It's amazing to me the variety between different branches of Argos and Tesco.

After a lot of frantic searching I was sucessfull this morning, or should I say my wife was. I just did the driving and collecting.
Gamestop have left a bitter taste in my mouth after all this, deposit paid since start of October and no information or communication from them, similar to a lot of people on this thread. Smyths were helpful and hinted each time I rang as to the best time to search.

if anyone is looking for x/s in Waterford Tesco on the Dunmore road has them I managed to pick one up there this morning. I dont know how many they have I asked at the customer service desk and someone came out said they had them had to pay at the phone place in there for some reason.

Gamestop messed me and a friend around last year on black Friday with PS4's. I wouldn't go near them again.

The friend I found a series X for had reserved one in gamestop for release day and they screwed them over. Gamestop have a horrendous pre order system and I wouldn't trust them at all.
