    Hello,

I would like to know what the penalties are from revenue or the state if you decide not to pay tax as a non-resident landlord and somehow this is found out.

I am planning on purchasing a property and would like to understand how revenue would know I had a property rented out in the first place. I guess I would have tenants in there that is working and paying PAYE so would they be claiming any tax relief and giving the address of the property meaning this property would then be flagged to revenue.

I am doing the maths on buying a property and renting it out and seeing if it is actually worth the hassle for the returns.

    Thanks

No one is going to assist you with planning tax evasion. Please consider discussing being a tax compliant non resident landlord with a tax advisor.
